Hey guys so i recently purchased a new vision spinner to use as it was the only thing in my budget at my local store, and the guy selling it to me told me it was better than the rest of the ones they carried. It was nice and sturdy and worked really really well the first week or so that I had it, but now, I'm having charging issues. (Ive looked up everything and i know that vision has had issues with charging and the battery itself, so there's always the possibility that it's just a crap pen).

When I plug the vision into the USB charger and into my laptop, the charger stays lit up green and I know it's supposed to be red. However, the pen itself does light up when plugged in - it stays blue, even when the pen is completely dead. I've tried anything and everything - pulling the center pin up, cleaning up around the charger and pen with a q tip and alcohol - absolutely nothing works. Im just confused because the pen lights up, but charger stays green. Has anyone had any of these issues/have any advice?

Do you have a wall plug for the charger? If so, try charging the battery using that instead of via the usb hooked to a computer. Been a while since I've used the Spinner type of batteries, recall that they got hinky when you charge them via computer.

I would suggest using the wall plug charging method for Spinners, eGo type batteries. For some reason (gremlins, invisible purple unicorns) these batteries while being capable of charging via usb to computer just never seemed to do it properly in my experience.

Here's a link to what I'm meaning by wall charger & another. If the shop you're getting stuff from didn't supply one with your setup, consider finding a different shop. It is kind of standard courtesy to give costumers everything needed, like a wall charger, when selling these kits.

I do, and I have tried - once with my old charger, when that didn't work, I figured it was the charger. I bought two new ones and neither one worked either, so I don't think it was the charger. When I plug into the wall, the charger light stays completely green. In my laptop, if I jiggle it a certain angle, it'll flash red for a split second and the vision spinner will light up red for like 5 seconds, then go back to blue.

Ah. Then to me that sounds like the battery itself might be ready crap out, if it hasn't already.

Let me run a quick list here for you of some reputable places to buy these from.

Vision eGo Spinner Variable Voltage 1300mAh Battery

Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh

Vision Spinner II (1600 mAh)

Yes, I know it seems crappy as crap to need to go buy new. If I knew the Innokin Itazte batteries I have here were still worth shipping out, I'd have you pm me so we could facilitate that. I'm not sure they're still up to functioning though. I think they are mad at me. Not used them in ages. :)

The only thing that makes me think the battery hasn't run dead is that when the charger does turn red for about 5 seconds, so does the pen and it begins to hold a charge and the pen glows red for a few seconds. Then the charger moves like a microscopic amount and the charger goes back to green :/ Thank you so much though, and I'll definitely give those a look.

I DO have another vape pen, but its an autodraw and the voltage isn't high enough for the thick oil i'm using in the cart's i've been getting lately.

If it's the type of charger that you screw your battery into (ego), plug the charger in first then slowly screw the Spinner in and stop at the red light.
Keep in mind that it's not a good thing to charge from an unplugged laptop, especially a questionable device.
I tried this several times, was a no go. I've ordered a vision spinner III just now, because I do adore the pen and am hoping the III is a bit better, but we'll see!

    Welcome to ECF:)
I had 2 Vision Spinners as my first units and found them both to be very temperamental with charging. I think they may not have best quality battery inside! I bought a new mod and problem solved.
I hope the vision spinner 3 goes better for you, if not it would be worth upgrading:thumbs:

Unfortunately, I'm a total novice when it comes to stuff like this and don't know what ohms means in the slightest, I'm sorry! :(

 ;) Welcome to ECF. You really should learn about the Ohm's Law, resistance, voltage, wattage etc. as it pertains to vaping. It's absolutely necessary if you're serious about vaping--you don't want to hurt yourself. But that's for later.
And by topper I'm assuming you're asking what brand/type of oil i'm using? I'm using a brand called SmartCart.

By topper she means a device (atomizer, tank, clearomizer) you attach to your battery (your power source) and fill with e-liquid (I hope you're not using oils in your atomizer--oil will clog your atomizer and your lungs (thing lipoid pneumonia). :)

Now back to the matter at hand. Vision Spinner (also eGo-C Twist, Kanger Evod Twist, etc.) is a solid battery, but it ain't a Swiss watch. Some of them are duds. Take your Spinner back to your local store, together with the charger you're using, and ask for help. Any eGo-type charger should work fine with your Spinner. I also second @MyMagicMist 's advice to get a wall wart. Don't use your computer to charge your ecig--even though that's what they were designed for. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck and keep us posted!

By topper I believe @classwife was referring to the portion also at times called a tank, atomizer, atty, clearo. What are you screwing onto the Spinner battery to hold the juice? I also second @Katya 's advice to not use oils but ejuice. You might later on learn you can flavor ejuice using kitchen flavorings. What you need to bear in mind doing that however is to ensure the kitchen flavoring does not contain oils. I had to double check my wife's vanilla flavoring before adding it to a bit of DIY juice mix that I had done up. The vanilla flavoring had some alcohol but no oils.

I'm using a cartridge, I'm not which catergory that fits into but it's not an atomizer, I don't think. It looks like this

Yes, this is a type of atomizer. It has a coil made from wire or ceramic inside with a wick. The wick draws in the juice and passes it by the coil which heats by the charge given from the battery. This then makes the vapor you can inhale, or hold in your mouth.

Yes, it's called a cartomizer, cartridge as well. :) Don't you just love all our miscellaneous & random jargon? Six people call the same piece six different names. :)

I think I'm handing you off to @Katya & others a bit. I'm going to go spend time with my wife vegging out in front of telly, eating supper. You run it slow. :)

    Well I feel stupid lmao

Please, don't. You're doing everything right--you've come here for help and you're asking the right questions. We were all in the same situation when we started. The only stupid thing is to NOT ask questions. :thumb:

I was just wanting to make sure you weren't using something that had a too low resistance and fried the Mosfet in your battery :)
