First off, yes. I guess I have. To clear my tank of juice I shake it with tissue where my trip tip normally goes, this works 100% of the time clearing the chimney. Is this the cause of my problems?
I have been starting on 7watts and it's changing nothing.
I don't want to use another coil either as I have 2 left and want to save them for the nautilus that I just ordered. Should I try cleaning a coil in hot water (as suggested online) and get all of the gunky juice out, then re-prime and use the coil? Could this fix it if my problem is with gunned up coils?

Yeppers. Rinsing in HOT water will definitely help. You will have an after taste of what juice you had previously put in there but it will dissipate. I would take the whole thing apart. Rinse everything in hot water.

Take a q-tip clean your mouth holes.
Take another q-tip clean your battery connection to the tank as that can sometimes be gunked up.
Take a rag or paper towel and dry your tank that you just cleaned.
Now the coil and the tank. Separate those and rinse them out.
Now take a q-tip and clean the coil hole.
Then take another qtip and clean where you put the coil in. Be careful to not leave any strings on the q-tip.
Dry the base with a rag.
Now put your coil and base together. Prime your coil with 10-15 drops.
While that is soaking put your tank back together.
Fill your tank up with e-liquid.
Now put your base on.
Take the filled tank and do that slingy thing with a rag.
Lower the voltage or watts all the way down.
Take a couple of tiny puffs.
Then slowly up the volts or watts to desired liking.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help.
I will try this a bit later on, even thought I have done all of this many times.
I feel embarrassed asking, but what is a q-tip? I normally clean air holes with rolled up tissue.

Make sure you're buying the coils from a reputable source. A lot of clones out there that will not function as well as true Aspire coils.

This is a good idea too. I have had problems with those fake coils as well. They need to say aspire on them. Usually a pack of 5 will be like 16 bucks.

The O.P. (Lwscable) is buying off Amazon, which to me isn't the wisest of places to buy.

Anything connected to e-cigarettes is not allowed for sale on Amazon, so the vendors can sell any old rubbish, as the buyers have no comeback whatsoever. It's a kind of cat and mouse game Amazon/ebay and sellers are playing. At the moment, the sellers are winning.

I realise in this case, that is highly unlikely - I'm sure they are genuine, but Amazon and ebay are not recommended, honestly.

I have been using 50/50, dark and clear juices on both 1.6 and 1.8 BVC's, and on the odd occasion I get a gurgle or flood on new coil, I simply fire it up and blow through drip tip and clear the excess juice through the air hole. I have found that the 1.8 likes a good four or five drips to prime, I drip through the top of the BVC directly on to the mesh until I see the wick through the BVC air hole change colour, then I give it a two or three second fire a couple of times before I put the deck and the tank back together. Once the tank is filled, I cover the air hole and give a slight draw on the drip tip to bring in a little juice and I am good to go.

I am using the Nautilus mini on an Ego-C twist! at 4.4v, maximum air hole, no metallic taste or gurgling, just great flavour and plenty of vapour, and I am getting about 3 or 4 weeks from the 1.8 BVC. I never have to re-prime on a refill, only when replacing the atty.

Hope this helps.

I was having that same problem.I read every article I could get my hands on, and you're definitely not alone !!! I tried every so called "Fix it trick" I could find.I started to feel like a contortionist, and I found myself having to constantly jack with the darn thing. Money was going down the drain with wasted coils and I asked myself "Is Vaping Really Cheaper Than Smoking?"This is not what Vapings supposed to be about.
In my experience ,once the wick gets burnt it will retain a taste that's slightly metallic or burnt . I have had the best luck with cleaning a Flooded coil by soaking it in a shallow dish of Vodka for a couple of hours. It does a wonderful job of dissolving gunky juice (Cheap is fine for cleaning).Rinse it under warm tap water and let it completely dry out.I then set them aside to air dry for a few days.
Flooding-
(1)Check to see if any of your threads or seals might be leaking even a little or are dirty. The Tank needs to maintain a vacume to keep the juice from leaking out. It works alot like a Water Cooler .Ive found a number of my BVC's had bad threads, and yes they came out of boxes with valid scratch offs.
(2)I know you said you tried raising the VG, but see if you can try a different one.Remember, juices vary a lot in thickness. Im not talking just the Vendor to Vendor differences because of the Bases they use. When you buy an ejuice (Same Vendor same PG/VG) there will be Flavors that are a whole lot thicker than others. My bit of advice is to stay with the 50/50,but try a different flavor
(3)Bumping up the heat didn't work that well for ME. Even when slowly raising the heat to no more Flood Temp. I ended up loosing flavor and toasting my wicks.
Out of all my numerous failures and frustration, using a thicker eJuice ended up being the actual problem solver for ME. I now use an eJuice that in my BDC's used to give my Dry Hits if I didn't thin it ,but using it with the BVC gives me totally awesome performance !!!
