I took some pics and I have the right coils.

Since I'm getting new coils anyway I took that thing apart (1.8 ohm), I rinsed it a bit before disassembly but you can still see there's juice on the wicking material.

So after much frustration i gave the 1.6 ohm another shot, wicked the thing more than i thought is right (not too much tho obvs) and tadaa it's working. I'm running on 10W / 4V, coil reading at 1.68 ohms. ironically I put in a really disgusting menthol juice nevertheless I'm not having any dry hits (knock on wood). I'm wondering whether I primed the previous coil enough.

Update #2 - brand new coil arrived today, installed the 1,8 ohm, primed generously and it vapes great. I can only conclude that you have to prime the coil really really well. I'm vaping steadily on 1,84 ohms / 4,7 V / 12,5 W. The only thing now is to wait until my sense of taste comes back to life after years of smoking cigs haha :)

Keep a rubber ban handy. After vaping a full tank the Nautilus can sometimes develop a really strong suction making it difficult to get the tank apart. A rubber ban works like a kitchen jar grabber thingy, just wrap the band around the glass or bottom of the tank and it is easy to unscrew.

Great to hear you are doing well. :)

I am so glad I saw this thread, I was ready to throw my Nautilus Mini out the window, courtesy of not 1 but 3 coils (all authentic Aspire Nautilus coils) that tasted burnt. I thought I was priming them properly but apparently not well enough. So, after reading all of the above I am trying all the suggestions on the 4th coil. Btw, the rubber band trick would have been great to remember before I used the pliers, now I have sharp edges on my tank thread

As far as my experience so far goes, prime the 4 holes on the side of the atomizer coil, screw it onto the bottom part and then prime it from the top and don't worry about a drop or two getting through the hole in the middle, assemble and take a few dry puffs and then vape. This procedure seems to work for me.

As far as the vacuum goes, doesn't blowing into the clearomizer help to get some air into the tank? Just thinking out loud.

Even after you think you have primed a coil generously it may need a bit of a break in period, as if there are air pockets in the wick, so anytime you put in a new coil, always start low and move up slow. It gets easier/faster with experience, like learning to drive a car

I just went and primed it exactly like that. And, let it sit there soaking. Now it is on a low wattage and I'm slowly increasing it. Still miffed about going through 3 coils. They were just delivered 2 days ago! Thanks for letting me know it's OK if some of it gets in the centre, I wondered about that :)

I should probably add that I have 2 tanks, that's why so many coils, I can mess them up twice as often. LOL.

I didn't know what caused it but trying to get the screw (or whatever the proper name for it is) off the bottom of the tank was unbelievably difficult. You'd think I tightened it with a vise grip. Since I only hand tighten it until it's snug I wondered why it was so difficult to get off. It was a relief to know it's something others have had happen :) If blowing air in it works, let me know.
