My mom is like a 15 cig a day smoker, of newports. She is constantly complaining to me how much the vape "stinks" and bothers her sinuses. Makes NO sense to me. Everyone else loves the smell or doesn't care, and how can smoke be fine but vapor bothers the sinuses? What?

Not to mention she CAN'T vape. She does nothing but coughs when she tries it. If anyone has an answer as to why this would be, let me know!

Wish moving out wasn't so damn expensive...soon...very soon...
This annoys me and is pretty common for smokers to say that, if only they new how bad they smelt, I'm an ex smoker myself and I used to cough too, when your body is used to inhaling all those chemicals everyday for years then it is a shock to the system, you have to stick with it, maybe lower the pg level in the juice, is the nic to high or maybe she tried those crappy vape pens with the not so great coils..
I always offer a new vaper to try the subox with the 1.5ohm coils, the flavour is personal choice..
The main thing is, that person has to really want to give up or they will find any excuse they can why "vaping isn't for them"

Yeah smokers just don't seem to know how bad smoke smells.

I've had her use vape pens with 50/50 pg/vg, my mech mod with mostly vg, and my box mod at low watts with mostly vg again. She always hacks! I'm not sure what she is doing wrong, but wish I could figure it out.

What about trying a creamy smooth e liquid, like Mothers Milk or The Milkman or a custard based one...The Aspire kit would be a good option (comes with the nautilus mini)...you could also try unflavoured juice too..

Other than a few cigars a year, I have never smoked and neither has my wife. I grew up with smokers and absolutely hate the smell and mess...But I do love vaping. It's a totally different thing in my view even if it's a similar looking process.

My wife on the other hand thinks that there is no difference. If she smells vape on my breath she crinkles her nose and turns away. "Ewww..." Anything I vape smells bad to her. I've tried talking with her about it: "If I chewed gum or ate fruit, my breath would smell the same. Why are those smells tolerable but vaping isn't?" Her only response is: "It's different."

So now I don't vape around her. She will tolerate it every now and again but she makes me brush my teeth before spending "quality time," together. The funny thing is that I vape in the house when she isn't around and it doesn't seem to catch her attention. I've even vaped in the car right before picking her up and she says nothing.

I think she just has some mental block around equating vaping with smoking. Hopefully, given time, she'll get over it.

I have to say, years ago my son had this chocolate e-juice from a local shop that smelled really terrible.
It had a really awful odor to it. ( Cross between low tide and the town dump.)
The funny thing was he loved the flavor and of course didn't smell what I was smelling.

I was real happy when that bottle was empty. LOL

Never fails to astonish me how women have their men jumping through hoops and how men seems to go along with it. You can't vape in your own house, oh hell no. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife very much but there has to be healthy boundaries. I don't like the taste of my wife's lipstick but I wouldn't ask her to take it off before I kissed her. Sorry, I just speak my mind, sometimes you have to put your foot down, no idea how guys live like that..

Yes exactly but vaping outside isn't one of them, smoking outside, yes, I can understand that..a happy balance is what a relationship revolves around..Each to their own I guess..

Dude...100%. I couldn't agree more! I've been happily married for 8 years...and I mean insanely happy. A lot of it has to do with the fact that I established quickly that what I do is my prerogative and the same goes for her. She trusts me to be faithful and hard working...because of that, I don't get flak for the things I like to do. I'm not into that macho "keep your lady in her place" crap...I just believe in boundaries and treat her how I want to be treated. If she wants to go out with her friends, I load her wallet up and wish her a good night. If she wants to buy some stuff, she can have at it because when want something, I get it!

I hear so many guys say things like "my wife won't let me" or "I have to ask her first". Makes me cringe. I've also noticed those guys expect their wives to ask permission to do things as well. I could not imagine living like that, either under someones thumb or trying to trap someone under mine.

Anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's my choice of juices (I'm still into the tobacco type of vapes, slowly moving into other flavors), but my wife can't stand the smell. And she's a smoker!
Personally, I know I can't smell much of anything, and I have had people at work tell me that some vapes smell "delicious." I just don't get it.

My girl friend is a non smoker/vaper and I must be very careful on the flavors and vapor volume. What surprises me is tobacco flavored vapes seem to be the least offensive followed by fruits. Some people have an extreme sensitivity to aromas. Experiment.

And see, I don't understand how couples live as if each of them are single. When I married her we agreed to become partners. It's not just my house; it's our house. If I wanted to do whatever I wanted to do without having to consult with anyone, then I wouldn't have gotten married. I made her a part of my life and that means I have to respect her and vice versa.

It's just a different outlook. It's worked for us for 28 years.

Right on brother  I haven't been married too long (20 years) but through the years spouses become one.... My flaws and lack of abilities are made up for by my wife, who may excel in what I lack in. Of course the opposite is the case when she lacks at something that I may be good at. And during the whole process, we LEARN off of each other and start melding into one single unit. I rub off on her and she rubs off on me so to speak.

She's probably trying to "power huff" it like a cigarette... it doesn't work well with vaping. It wouldn't allow her absorb much nicotine either, even if she was inclined to give it a whirl.

The smell is *different* than smoking, and often smells like something edible... which completely mystifies smokers; it freaked me out completely at first. The actual desire to give it a try, an open-minded willingness, has to be there, or it never will work -- there will always be rationalizations as to why it "doesn't work." A closed mind admits nothing.
