Why the desire to use unregulated / mech?

Regulated power devices offer so many more features & safety protections along with adjustable consistent power output.

Using a mech as the battery(s) voltage decrease so does the power going to the delivery device which in turn negatively impacts vape quality.

Thanks a lot about all this informations ,i will have all of them in mind but my question here is if i build a .3 coil for a mech tube where shoud i stop vaping in that battery? As soon as i notice the first "voltage drop" or later?
I swap my batteries out at around 3.6V

Simple reason, a good quality Mech provides a better Vape along with other reasons.

I'm sure for some vapers, vaping a mech is more enjoyable. Perhaps the question should be, why a mech FIRST? Are you vaping stably now? What are you using?

Also, make no mistake about the noisy cricket, yes it has SOME protections. It is also still, essentially, a mech mod, and one made more complicated by its design. I have one in my closet.

I still don't find myself needing to use it at this point, and I'm fairly certain that by now, I have the skills and knowledge to do so. I choose regulated because (for me) I can achieve fine results, and it's far safer on a day to day basis for someone who is clumsy with their equipment. I see no need to break out the couple mech mods unless I want to have a mech mod "moment" at last, but I primarily have a couple in case you know, Armageddon arrives and etc.

The amount of choice CURRENTLY available today certainly means that most users can find a regulated mod that does the trick for them. Including such things as a temperature controlled vape.

In many ways, it's arguable that a regulated vape can in some ways be "better" than a mechanical mod, but that's a personal choice kind of thing.

I think it's fine if you want to try a mech, but honestly as an all day thing? Far more potential hazards to be encountered, although there are many successful mech users. I'd argue against it as an early choice, and nothing prevents you from getting one now, along with a regulated mod, and learning to use it once you are stably vaping.

Frankly, it's nice to have the OPTION to do so, and it's always a good idea to have a decent regulated mod around, even if just for out and about. Etc.

I've reading all day about mechs and batteries and i find out that its to much to care about all the time. I dont say that when your are using a regulated device you automatically be careless but its totally different. For now i will stay with my trusty drag and gpriv and maybe in the future i grab a unregulated box mod. Also thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts

I own several mech mods. I don't use them because I get a better experience and peace of mind from regulated mods.

I did the whole mech mod thing years ago.
I agree with your opinion. I've used both, enjoyed both.

But with a regulated mod with variable wattage I can easily change my vaping experience "on the go" by changing the wattage setting; can't do that on a mech. Thus, my mechs have been placed on retired duty.

And of course there is more peace of mind from a safety perspective using a regulated mod.

I swore to myself that I'd never fool with mechs again . Kept that pledge for almost two years and then got a mechs squonker.

When I find a squonker that meets my criteria, the mech will get put up.

It's a different vape. But the tradeoff you make in attention to detail has to be considered. A faulty or improperly regulated mod doesn't work right. A faulty or improperly configured mechanical device will hurt you.
