Electronics? hah too perfect! Take yourself a small 2xAA battery box, mate it with 1-2 14500s (parallel for 2, but a harder fit), recess the connector to the best of your abilities and add the smallest normally off switch you can find. For the 5volt feel use LR attys or cartos. That way you don't need extra space for the electronics needed to drop the voltage.

Another way would be to use a TI voltage booster (ptn04050) with 1 14500 in a 2 battery box. You would still have enough space for the switch and a somewhat recessed connector, but your battery life would suffer. The good part is that you could use your standard resistance cartos or attys and have your 5 volts.

If you need any help or advice on modding feel free to pm me. ^_^

Edit: if you really don't feel up to building one just yet than any of the smaller mods produced professionally should work..just throw on a LR atty and youll be fine.

In the meantime, I can't decide between the little sis or the YPPR SS. I like that the SS looks to be way more durable, but the sister has VV, and is just more proven. Plus the LS with the corner button looks like it is less prone to pocket firing.

Any advice regarding some unseen factor?

The VaprLife Vypr SS has the same switch as their Turbo and Pearl, I've owned both (currently still have my Pearl) and that switch never ever fired in my pocket. It would be extremely hard to do IMO. I also own a LS, and I'm actually scared to carry it in my pocket. The dial does dial down to 0v, but it doesn't click in place so the dial can easily move, the switch is so light that I'm afraid it will fire. I also kinda view the LS as "fragile".

Hey man cool advice, thanks. It would be cool to use a mod I built myself, but I'm not real great at soldering. Got an A in DC theory last semester, and taking 3 more electronics classes now. The prof said we're actually going to be building a bomb with a digital counter timer at the end of the semester. Computers is next semester. I've built 2 PCs, but this is different. If I do build a mod, I'll be ready in a couple months. Not a huge deal i know, but I don't have a ton of money to waste if I .... up.

Thanks. I was kinda hoping to be turned on to the Vypr, as it's way slicker looking. I already have 2 VV mods, and the buzz is pretty similar to the Vypr, so I was kinda wanting to mix it up. But a super small mod qualifies by itself I think.

So what is the difference between the SS and the original Vypr? THIS site says the original is $15 more, but the same size, 3.1".

EDIT, oh this mod only uses one battery so it can't achieve the higher voltage. What I should just do it say screw the higher voltage and make the huge switch from my 20 labeled 3.0 ohm cartos to a whole bunch of 2.0 ohm cartos. Then i could get a super tiny mod to stealth vape on, and save battery life at the same time.

I'm guessing the Vypr has pretty poor bat life with 2 low capacity batteries trying to push out high voltage.

Right, the batt life isn't going to rock your world, but for class or short trips out, I believe it would be great. It's obviously pretty small and it achieves the voltage you requested in your original post. It's also pretty good looking IMO. :)
