The OCC coils have a square head. The original OCC coils were hortizontal but Kanger does now sell vertical OCC coils.

Horizontal OCC Coils
  • 0.5 Ω coils - 15 watts to 30 watts.
  • 1.2 Ω coils - 12 watts to 25 watts.
Vertical OCC Coils
  • 0.2Ω coils - x watts to 80 watts
  • 0.5Ω coils - 15 watts to 60 watts
  • 1.2Ω coils - 10 watts to 26 watts
  • 1.5Ω coils - 10 watts to 26 watts
The SSOCC are round heads, the housing made out of stainless steel.

Both the older square heads OCC and the new round head SSOCC models will fit, and work, with any current Kanger Subtank. Choose the proper "mode".

SSOCC Coils:
  • Pink O-Ring -- Stainless Steel wire. Power or SS TC mode, your choice.
  • Blue O-Ring -- Nickel wire. Ni TC mode ONLY.
  • Black O-Ring -- "Clapton" coil. Probably Kanthal, Power Mode ONLY.
  • Red O-Ring -- NiChrome wire. Power Mode only. Made to use with the NiCh TC mode on the brand new Kanger TC mods. Doesn't actually TC according to reports. More work needed, we'll see. No other mods can TC it (TCR 0011ish... doesn't work).

LOL... I recognize my writing... and italicization... and commentary. :p

Thanks actually... I get really tired of re-typing that and the text (and table) are on another computer. :D

Thank you for typing it all out.:)

I'm one handed so typing takes a long time. I use Evernote and sometime ECF's blogs to store information so I can just copy/paste.

Now you can grab it all and put it in one place.

I can almost timestamp that version from what is included, and what isn't. :p
I've typed it at least a dozen times.

Now of course, we have the "revised" SSOCC rounds.
The early generation are smaller in diameter with two juice holes.
The new version is larger with a smaller third juice hole.
I'm not aware yet of any other differences.
