Have any of you guys had trouble recoiling this heads to perfection. I have recoiled a few heads where they don't gurgle/leak with just silica wick and a flavour wick, buts its a pain to fluff them up and get it just right! Im thinking about using silica and a cotton flavour wick to get a consistent chucking vape any thoughts/ recommendations?:confused:

I use two very small pieces from organic cotton balls for the main and flavor wicks, and I just snip and use my tweezers or the needle from a filler syringe to gently fluff the ends before I snap the chimney back on. Just gotta make sure you don't use too much cotton or air flow will be restricted and the draw will be too tight. Rebuilt coils along with the Kanger Aerobase make the Protank 2 an absolute joy to use. Excellent vapor and flavor, and no leaks.

I switched to cotton without a "flavor" wick for several months. But I vape 100% VG...
Recently switched to Rayon and found it superior to cotton.
Cotton may require the silicon grommet until the fibers swell and block any extra seeping into the
wicking area, then I would remove the grommet.
Good luck to you!

I rebuild all my kanger coils using a 1.5mm drill bit using 28 gauge kanthal. I do about 10 wraps, take it of the drill bit, squezze together with pliers and heat it so it glows nicely then put it back on my drill bit and place in the head to fit the bottom gromet and pin. I wick with Muji japanese cotton and have no problems with flooding, gurgling or dry hits.

These are the single coil "old style" heads for protank 1 & 2 and T3s clearomizers.

If you are rebuilding a dual coil head because the slits on the side are bigger I have found that if you use two 1.5mm drill bits stacked on top of each other to make an oval coil 3mm high and 1.5mm in width then wick (you do need more cotton) then this stops any leaking etc.

I never use a flavour wick, don;t need to.
