I'm not sure there's a good scientific answer to that? What mg cartriges did you get? If your liking the taste just use it for a couple puffs and see if you can satisfy the urge and put it down. To me you normally will be able to puff on the e-cig faster than a cig so I don't worry about it. You just want to be aware of the flavor depleteing so as not to vape any burning material inside your cartridge

That's completely subjective, on many levels; impossible to answer.

Some have long draws, some short.

Nicotine absorption varies based on how you vape (inhale?), as well as your personal physical "construction".

It might help if you'd tell us why you're looking for this information, as well as what and how often you used to smoke.

I was looking for it to find out how many puffs I *should* technically have to equal one cigarette. Though I know the proper response is puff until you dont feel the nicotine urge anymore.

And I used to smoke about 10 newport shorts a day. Switched to marlboro lights 3 weeks ago since newports were just doing a number on my lungs and smoked about 8 of those a day.

Smoked my last cig today and went to buy this to test it out

I've had bronchial issues recently. Went to see the doc, got it cleared up after 1 1/2 months.. Now I don't want that issue to come back so I am switching to these.

Good for you!

Off hand (!), I'd say start with 12 mg/mL (aka "Light") for the first couple of weeks, then you might consider lowering it. Sometimes it takes longer (that subjective factor, again). You might start with 18 mg too; who knows.

Ready to get away from Blu yet? :p

I "think" the disposable blu's only come in 24.

Oh booo, well I've got this 24 mg one for now.

Do the disposables come in the lower doses?

One final question (I promise). Are the non disposable ones only for sale online or are they available in other locations?

I would believe the blu starter packs could be bought almost anywhere. I bought mine from Walgreens. They are about $37.

With that said, I only used it for a week before I felt I needed something better. That is why one of the others asked if you were ready to give up on the blu yet.

The starter kit is for sale in a ton of retailers. And my disposable lasted me about an hour until it was dead. So I returned it and they gave me a new one. Sames results roughly hah. But if you're going to spend the 30+ dollars for a blue starter kit you might be better off getting an ego kit. But that's totally subjective to you and whether you would want something bigger then and fractionally harder to use the a blu. Ego's are pretty much fill and go.

If I recall I have seen e cig stands at the mall in Providence. Just can't recall if it was 'blu cig' or not.. hmnn.. I'll have to take a drive there soon.

Im excited to be honest. Even while smoking analogs, and even through my bronchial issues I was still able to maintain my runs of 5 miles per day... but I could never increase it due to my smoking... but perhaps with ecigs now I can increase my runs :)

Please feel free to ask all you want; if you're pestering, someone will direct you to the Infozone ( ECF InfoZone - The is the E-cigarette Forum Information Zone, for all your ecig needs ) or the New Members info forum. ( New Members Information ) :D

All are available locally, but you may have to drive for a while.

Anyone from Providence RI here?

First one ever. I like the taste, very good.

Now I just have one question and I know this is an iffy question. But could anyone give me an estimate as to how many puffs equal one cigarette (or roughly 1 mg of nicotine)?

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to ecf. As you know,(from reading the other post here), not much love for the Blu ecig. Altho, it was one of the two I started with, I knew it wasn't the 'one' for me. Depend of your level of craving, not so much on whether it equals an analog. The reason being that we absorb the nic differently than with analogs. I always equate it with having a beer as opposed to a whiskey. i.e. Both will get you drunk, the beer just takes a bit longer.
With analogs, the nic is delivered in your lungs as you filter the smoke.(and you can get a head rush)
With ecigs, you absorb the nic into your body thru your mouth/throat.(therefore no head rush)
Absorbtion takes a bit longer to get used to. Therefore, I don't see much relevance to equating it to the number of analogs.
Hope this helps a little..
happy vaping
:)

I'm in the same boat as OP... I bought the blu last Thursday, rather on a whim, to see if I liked it any better than analog smoking. The first cartridge lasted me for about two and a quarter days. I normally smoked about 16 analogs a day. I liked it immediately, but realized I would want better equipment. Until that gets here, I have the blu to get me through and I'll have it as a backup.

I don't really get the *hate* that I'm seeing in the vaping world for blu. If it is viewed as an easy intro to vaping, isn't that a good thing? And like any product, caveat emptor (buyer beware). The fact that blu is paying for nationwide advertising to make vaping more mainstream seems like it'll be helpful, as well, to get the word out and more people off of analogs.

In reply to the OP, the High level cartridges that my set came with are supposed to be 13-16 mg and last 250 puffs. For the sake of averages, let's call that 14.5 mg and divide that by 250 puffs. That gives us 0.058 mg nicotine per puff. The Marlboro Ultra Light 100s I smoked purportedly have 0.5 mg per analog. That means that I should puff 9 (8.62 to be exact) hits to equal about one cig. To take that one step further that means that each cartridge is equal to almost 28 cigarettes at nine hits per. If you want to know what the levels are for your particular brand, just google the name and nicotine content. You can do the math.
