Hi All,

So last night I posted an introduction and talked about my new mod (joyetech eVic Supreme w/ Kanger Aerotank Mega), and as per Newton's law, now has stopped working.

What happened was this morning I filled up my tank and put it in sleep mode after I decided to shave before having a vape. I shaved and then went to turn it on and to my surprise the screen stayed black (after charging it to 100% during the night). After trying numerous button holding theories and firmware reverts, i still cannot get anything to happen including getting my MacBook to recognize it.

I only received the eVic last friday and have contacted the store i purchased it from but they have not yet been able to get back to me, so i thought i would ask around on here if any has had this problem with the eVic and has successfully fixed it.

(It has no water damage, physical/drop damage, ran it at 4.2v mostly and had around 800 puffs off it).

Thanks for any help! Mods if you need to move this please do (i can only post here)

Kyle

Sorry to hear this.

I wouldn't fool around with it at all, I would return it for a new one ASAP.

Just chalk it up to experience.

I read some others had experiences similar to this with the original eVic and the Supreme and it had to do with updating the firmware (which i'm not sure if I did or not to be honest) but I agree. Beyond taking the battery out and plugging it into my computer I am going to wait and see what is said about the warranty/replacement.

The only thing that bothers me is that it is my only device  Thanks for the reply though!

Oh boy one device, we always need two for this very reason.

If you have an volt meter check and make sure the battery is charged up.

    Edit.

    After you check the battery.

Here's a video with A PBusardo Review - The eVic Supreme Part 1 - GOTO 57 on the counter and he talks about the firmware.

I will be ordering another device because I actually enjoy vaping way more than smoking. Thanks for your help!

Will update if it fixes itsself or vendor/Joyetech replace it, etc.

Came across this maybe it'll help you out!
Downloading the MyVapors software is pretty straightforward, though I do have some advice for Mac users; you’ll need to allow “any” downloaded software to be installed through your Security settings in the System Preferences before you can install the application. JoyeTech is not a registered or verified software developer for Apple; so only by bypassing the default security will you be able to install the software.

Once the software is installed you should restart your computer, and attach your eVic with the supplied USB cable. After that, launch MyVapors and start to set up your eVic Supreme. The MyVapors software version I installed for this review was v1.4. The interface will remind you of the previous software from last year, but it is far more capable. I’ll list the capabilities further down. http://spinfuel.com/joyetech-evic-supreme-review/

My troubles with the original EVIC started rather early on. By the time it died, neither my vendor or Joyetech wanted to know.
    (5 months, 26,000 puffs).

Any concerns, send it back ASAP. Don't leave it.... or it might be too late.

Thanks! I am now in contact with the vendor and they have said they will look for a known solution or replace it.

I will post whatever solution they try and give me, or if they just say send it back.

    Hi All,

Just wanted to give an update.

I contacted JoyeTech and the retailer who sold me the device. JoyeTech appeared to have no solution and immediately told me to send it back to the retailer for replacement (which they also communicated to the retailer).

I got confirmation from the retailer and will be having it replaced. So all-in-all a pretty good customer service experience.

    Thanks!

I had some issues at first, mostly just software gremlins which are now sorted by changing the way I interact with it, such as.. opening My Vapour before connecting the evic supreme. The battery gauge is not all that great sometimes, minor false readings by just a few percent.

I had the issue with it not switching on but only after I had tried to upload my own boot logo, I didn't do it right so I just deleted my piccie and restored the originals, It's worked fine ever since, I have not bothered trying again since but I will soon I think :).

I bought mine from totally wicked and had contacted them about my issues, also had a nice conversation with Richard at Joyetech UK, they were both very helpful ! :)

I was a bit annoyed at first when I found that the screen inverse was not working!. turns out of course.. it's not yet enabled for the supreme :(

Is there a consolidated thread about evic faults and fixes?.. the main evic threads are too big to read through every page lol

Glad to hear yours is working well!

I must have just received a faulty one at first, the replacement I received under warranty has been working amazingly every day since I received it in the mail. My suspicions now are that I may have tried to do a software update for the device, which could have caused an error with the board in the device.

Either way, I put a Kayfun Lite+ on it and have been so satisfied. The LCD screen really helped me at first when I was learning about how the science behind the device worked.

Loading of the boot logo and the custom screen logo is a bit tricky at first, if you need some help shoot me a PM and I can send you some screenshots of how I did it.

I have to ask, the 'screen inverse' your talking about, is that like inverting the colours? So its black text on a white background?
