Joyetech Ecom Review

First off thanks to all of ECF for the advice on all the products I've gotten so far.

I just wanted to post about the new Ecom I got though. I have all sorts of mods now but ordered the new ecom as an "on the go" piece. The atomizer it came installed with was completely useless. It actually fell apart as I was taking it out to replace it due to gurgling issues. After I replaced it it actually started to vape without juice in my mouth. However, the vape quality is terrible. I've adjusted the airflow and tinkered around with it plenty but vapor production is very low overall. My 15$ K-go V.V. works far better. Also, there's a really strange flavor which I believe to be caused by the plastic tank it has. I actually became really nauseous after using it. The person in the desk next to me even became nauseous too! I usually only use glass but like I said I wanted this as mobile piece.

The battery itself is extremely light and cheap feeling. the usb plug in cover is also not attached to the battery and falls off if brushed against something.

Oh, also when it's being used it gets SUPER hot. A little heat is ok, but you can't even touch the darn thing.

I'm going to see about returning it, but wanted to let everyone know that although the design is innovative, this is another e-cig failure and I would definitely suggest NOT buying this product.

I bought the 650mah single pack version. This is my first VV or VW device so I do like those features. What I didn't like was the mouthfuls of juice I got on the first few vapes. I too had to change out the atty to prevent this. Filling the tank is a pain and if you're not real careful, the atty floods easily and you get a mouthful. No nausea or strange flavors yet but overall I'm disappointed with the eCom.

Yea my boss and I both got one and none of the installed atty's in mine or his functioned, we both had to switch them out. Just straight up gurgling at first. At 25$ for a 5 pack of their atomizer heads that also stings a little bit. I'm kicking myself for having gotten a double pack of 1100's and dropping 120$ on them when my 15$ v.v. k-go with a clearomizer works far better. I've tried braking it in to see if that worked but still very little vapor production. For some reason I can't taste my juices very well either, I just get a plasticy taste or very muted taste if any. It may just be that I've been using glass tanks for while and this was a switch back to plastic though. I'm gonna toss it on ebay to see if I can't recoup some losses.

Would you consider letting me post this on another forum with details removed (in whatever way you see fit) please?

Got mine today, at first I had problems with gurgling and juice in my mouth, took it all apart, wiped everything down, put it all back together and its working fine now.

Lots of vapour, nice clean flavour, not leaks, and very cool to the touch. The usb cover does go in further if you shove it a bit.

Does feel very light compared to an ego and ego-cc, but that should be a good thing when you stuff it in your pocket.

I got my hubby an ecom for Christmas to try to get him to put down the regular cigs, he has never tried electronic before and I had not either so this was a brave new world for us. He did get a mouth full of fluid the first puff but he thinks that was from putting the liquid in the wrong hole.... now I'm not so sure as it sounds others have had similar experiences. He took it apart, wiped it down and put it back together paying close attention to filling it correctly. He has only had 2 cigs in the last 2 days, the rest of the time it has been the ecom. So we are off to a good start. I have no idea what all the settings do, but he has had fun playing with them and has it just how he likes it now. I think it's probably a great one to start with for the type of dude he is, the ecom is very discreet imo and if the goal is to get a wanna-be techie type guy to try an alternative to regular cigs then this is probably the way to go, especially if you don't want to spend a ton of time researching which brand to go with - joyetech seems to be one of the more well known ones, it's hard not to run into that name upon initial googles on this subject. I don't see many experienced vapors spending the cash on this thing because they have learned how to build custom doodads that they prefer way more than anything straight out of a box.

ps... I had quit smoking after college prior to starting a family but sometimes especially socially I do miss it even though I hate the smell and it burns my eyes/throat ect. I bought an eco-c for myself just for shtsn'giggles and I have to say I really like it. Extremely easy to get started out of the box, no settings to fret about. All the fun social stuff with none of the bad and you don't even have to have the nic.

I am intimidated about the idea of cleaning atomizers though, I don't have a clue what a clearomizer is but I hope I don't have one because it's overwhelming enough as it is. For now I think we'll just hold on to the old atomizers and buy new ones until we work up the courage to sit down and clean a batch of them.

Mhh give it another try. After 1 time pouring the liquid without closing the lid - I am now AMAZED and satisfied. I was using before the Joyetech eRoll, Kangertech EVOD and eMode. The eCom has the best smell, it is great in the hand and also all my friends trying the ezigs out for the first time immediatly said they want to have this one (the eCom). It is now my primary vapor cigarette. Sometimes I use the eMode as well, but even it uses the same C2 Atomizer head, the vapor smells better using the eCom. But I have probably to experiment more on both to get the vapor on my eMode the same in quality as with the eCom. For new starters i would immediate without any hesitation recommend the eCom. However I am not fully convinced of the long length of the 1000mAh Battery. I will probably buy another 650mAh battery with me and switch to the existing 1000mAh if I need more battery. I don't think you need a double set, single set with a second battery is far enough. Taking another non C2 Atomizer based vapor eCig with me is somehow dissatifying when using the eCom before. So i go out with eMode / eCom. Sorry for making a really good review after the other experiences.

Devices in I own in order of effectiveness.
Ecomm
NZonic clone from (meh) pro UCDT pyrex tank, carto, magnetic firing button fell off after a while
Chiyou clone with Ibtanked 22mm
2 kgo's VV. with poly pro carto tanks.
KTS with kick2 RSST RBA 32 gauge
Innoken 134 w/505 pyrex tank
Vamo V5 with puritank BCC (airflow controller of course)
provari with kir attachments (polished brass) Ibtanked pyrex tank (22mm) Black and Gold Swirl rotatable drip tip SS

Cartos used: Ikenvape Platinums, smoketechs for backups. All SR or 3 ohm

Ecomm is the lesser of any listed. Vouched for by me and my boss. Both of us have since shelved them. I suppose someone might like it if they prefer lighter "airy" hits. I feel like I'm only getting half puffs when I use it. I like big dense clouds...

Juices used in ecomm 50/50 pg/vg, tried 70/30, but was barely getting anything out of it
mount baker vapor: insufficient vapor production
Goodlife vapor: actually not half bad for vapor production, but still less than kgo with a clearomizer. And the juices taste so chemically to me I don't use them any more
Heather's heavenly: Bad vapor production
Ahlusion: bad vapor production
high brow: low vapor production as well.

Ecomm seems to burn any juice I put into it above 4 volts...

lol, almost funny at how passionate I am right now about posting my disappointing experience. Was seriously bummed after losing so much money. Both batteries and tanks perform in the way I mentioned above. Thought that letting everyone know the mods I'm working with would put things into perspective.

I bought the single eCom kit for my wife for Christmas. It worked reasonably well for a short time. It soon stated gurgling and my wife said the fluid was coming into the mouthpiece. I cleaned it all out and even put a brand new atomizer head in the device but the same problems occured, I also tried different settings of voltages and adjusted the air flow control but to no avail. due to it being a dedicated battery this kit is now useless and I have wasted my money. My advice to anyone thinking of buying this device is, think again.

not sure what everyone is talking about gurgling and flooding. From the first fill to the 20th or so, mine has been working perfect. I did get in a hurry to fill mine once and the eliquid backed up on me and ran down the side. That may actually be what is causing the flooding... instead of one big squeeze, a few little ones to fill avoids this issue.

I'm comparing my eCom to a Marlboro cigarette.

I'm using an Ovale Menthol eliquid.
It gives out more smoke than my cigarette with less inhaling effort.
Taste and smell wise, I have zero judgement. This is my first e-cig.

My opinion is, I still prefer my Marlboro cigarette. It has a roasted taste that only BURNING cigarettes can produce.
Apart from a strange throat hit (medicine like; not sure if this is generic smell for e-cigs), its a pretty good e-cig.
I'm ordering other eliquids now, but I don't have faith it would take over the smell of a BURNING cigarette.

But this is the best alternative any smokers could use.
My gums is not as healthy as before. If I can find ways to put my gums in healthier and good condition, I will always pick my Marlboro cigarette over eCom. Period

I bought the ecom as my first ecig and didn't really do any research but the guy who sold me it was using one and I liked the sleek smaller design better than the others. I have been having a good experience with it so far for the most part.

I have been having issues with gurgling and getting liquid through the mouth piece but I think I filled it up a little too much. The vapes to me are full and satisfying and the vw and vv option with adjustable voltage is nice when I want a different vape from time to time. I have also had a few issues with burning taste but I think I have at times been vaping too frequently and causing it to overheat. I have been off traditional cigs for three days using 12mg doses after smoking about half a pack a day of marlboro lights. I use herbal remedies to help cope as well but this is not the forum for that :D.

I can see how this may not be the best choice for experienced vaping enthusiasts and it was a little pricey for the single kit but I am enjoying it. With regular care and maintenance it should last for a long while.

I was just wondering if anyone had any cleaning tips about the ecom specifically or any tips in general using it. Is there a way to get the atomizer out while there is still liquid in the chamber without it spilling?

I'm a Marlboro Black Menthol lover. I found a replacement for it.

Extreme Ice (2 extra shots) from Mount Baker Vapor
HFC from Mister E Liquid

Extreme Ice provides the icy feeling I crave.
HFC provides the cigarette taste, with nutty and honey flavor.

I carry 2 ego ecigs with me for switching between these 2 eliquids. One for Extreme Ice and the other for HFC.
HFC does not have the traditional cigarette taste, but its honey and nut is pleasant to my senses.

I have given up on ecom. A new C2 atomizer only works well for 3 days. After 3 days, burning hits and less vapor production is a definite.

I kept buying eliquids and try different combinations until I found this combination. Marlboro Black Menthol lovers, looking to buy an ecom, change your decision and test my recommendation. It will work well for you.

I got one of these to get started on vaping, been vaping eCom 1100 mAH for 10 days now, using the USA mix 18 mg liquid. It's been doing good so far, didn't experience 'mouthful of liquid' thing. Though, I do sometimes get to taste the glycerine, but only occasionally. Also, I think the gurgling sound is because of improper vaping habit, or perhaps due to flooding of the atomizer. Try cleaning the atomizer if there's a gurgling sound.
