I have an idea... get the variety bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans (49 flavors) to get a general idea of different flavors for DIY juices. I know that many of the Jelly Belly flavors are natural (or combined with artificial) but it would still provide a guideline for choosing flavors. They also have "recipes" where you combine different flavors (just like DIY) The ones with natural flavors would be a good goal to try and recreate with DIY flavors. Does this make sense? Hey, maybe I just need an excuse to eat a bunch of jelly beans ;)

Um, I think you are over complicating things.

Any "jellybean" flavor is probably gonna target grabbing a handful out and eating them. I think. I have no actual knowledge of this to be fair. But, I don't see what other way you can do it.

Yep I suppose you could combine some jelly bean=like flavors for a mix you would enjoy but you would need something for the super sweet sort of base taste. I am thinking this could be accomplished though.

I don't why you (or anyone) thinks "Natura" flavors are in any way better or safer than artificial. In fact, it is sometimes the reverse. Read about flavor labs some time and the MULTIPLE WEIRD WACKY AND WILD things that are done to them to achieve "flavor."

Sometimes, an artificial flavor is probably safer, because it's just the initial "building blocks" you start with and by the time the flavor lab is done with them they could be chemical madness worse than artificial, but like, it carries this 'premium" somehow.

Also you could have natural flavors of skunk in your strawberry yoghurt. Maybe that's how they make it not foul, IDK.

Are you asking about this or answering it? I'm sure there are some "good" (I don't like jellybean) recipes "around." Somewhere.

Good luck though sounds like 'eat jelly bean" time to me.

Natural flavours will be some form of extract from the product they are trying to replicate. But this does not mean it will be exact to its true flavour. For candies, or jelly beans, other ingredients are used to create the flavour. Same can be said with flavour concentrates, and in some cases, natural flavour means using essential oils.

Jelly Belly will have its own distinct flavours. If the objective is to combine Jelly Belly beans to find a preferred mix, how does one match that to what is available in flavour concentrates. I’m sure Jelly Belly Kiwi is distinctly different than TFA Kiwi which will differ from FW Kiwi, just as a simple example.

I should have posted this:
https://www.amazon.com/Jelly-Belly-...=1580333528&sprefix=jelly,aps,205&sr=8-1&th=1
I assumed most people were familiar... 49 flavors and on the back it shows pictures (each flavor color coded) and they also have suggested "recipes" (simple... 3 flavors max) What if I had never tasted a guava in my life? At least I could taste the candy version and see if I like it. Maybe I'm curious about guava combined with pina colada (yes, that's a single jelly bean flavor) Chew on both together and find out. They have flavors like buttered popcorn (one of my favorites @Northstar6) cappuccino, mocha and many more. I got this before at a jelly belly outlet. It's really fun combining them (also find out which combos are really bad together)

Aware of Jelly Belly and their marketing. Perhaps I do not understand your objective.

Is your objective to replicate the Jelly Belly flavour? Taste Jelly Belly guava then use combinations of e-juice flavourings to try and closely mimic that Jelly Belly flavour.

Or taste Jelly Belly guava, and use that experience as a purchasing decision to buy say TFA guava which I can guarantee will taste differently than the Jelly Belly version.

I'll answer the question with a question... if you eat a real peach (and you like the real peach flavor) then attempt to create a juice that tastes close to that (knowing that it won't be the same) why even bother using a real peach as a reference?
Maybe you eat an apple pie (flavors of cooked apples, sugar, cinnamon and pie crust) and attempt to combine individual flavors to resemble that... you get the idea... Isn't that the whole point of reviewers making comments on how this flavor tastes more like the real thing or that flavor is more like a candy flavor or a third flavor doesn't taste like anything even close to either? I had a feeling this thread would just confuse everyone. My goal is to have a reference to compare to (including combinations of flavors) I can't afford to buy a bunch of juice flavors and just try them all so I rely on reviews and input from others to choose the flavors that might be close to what I"m seeking. Actually, apple pie was a bad example... there is no jelly bean (or combination of) that has that flavor (maybe I should suggest to Jelly Belly to make more bakery type flavors)
Geez, I just thought this would be a fun (and possibly useful) experiment. Many of you are stuck in the same routine (buy 10 different flavors of different brands... end up with over half that will never use) I don't have that option... but by doing lots of research, I can buy two and have a good chance of finding what I need. I guess I tend to think too far "out of the box".

BTW, I did "ask" this looking for opinions... even if most people say it's a useless idea (I'll still get the jelly beans because I like them anyway)
I will make a last attempt to explain my reasoning (or lack of)...
If the only way to really know what a particular flavor (and/or brand) is going to taste like is to try it, then the solution is to buy all 1499 flavors that Bull City offers. But you say "I don't like peach"... well how do you know if you haven't tried every possible peach flavor available? Some people say they don't like to drink coffee but find they actually like to vape it (I've heard the same thing for coconut) Of course, we all also rely on suggestions from other people but then everyone's tastes are different (a "conundrum") Please just ignore this thread (I'll get the hint) or if you think there is any merit to this idea, I would like to hear your thoughts.
Peace out... vape on!

First – I understand you are on a budget and do not have the option to purchase a large surplus. Hence my questions and input. It was not to criticize your methods. But understand there will always be a level of experimentation and an acceptance that you will end up with flavours you will probably never use because you just dislike them.

Tasting jelly beans does not guarantee a compatible e-juice. Apples to oranges comparison. Those who are stuck in a routine, which I do not think is fair to say, I am willing to bet many have chosen flavours based on past taste experiences. I know I have - and after 2 years I am still chasing that perfect lemon meringue. So using jelly beans as a reference is no different than using a fruit or bakery or any other taste experience we’ve had. We gamble, sometimes we win, sometimes we do not. It’s the reality of the game should someone wish to experiment.

You enjoy Jelly Belly’s guava – now you are challenged at finding what flavours out of the 1499 Bull City has to offer will give a compatible experience. There will be obvious flavours that will not make the cut, but this is not a simple one to one transition. Or perhaps it will be…there will always be that unknown to which you have to accept the gamble.

If you want to sample jelly beans and come up with flavour combinations then go for it – and have fun doing so. I was not questioning that but trying to understand your objective and offer some insight. With others giving opinions perhaps you can view this from a different perspective which may or may not help with your goal.

No worries. If nothing else (since most of the fruit flavor jelly beans are "natural") it will help me with those flavors (since I tend to like realistic over candy) Sure a lot cheaper (and more convenient) than buying a bunch of fruits (and juices)
I didn't mean to get defensive... not my style anyway.
On a sidenote: I recently tried a juice with "candy" banana flavor and actually like it (it is peanut butter banana) so wanted to explore those too. I don't know how they (JB) do it, but the popcorn and others like cappuccino are amazing.

Well…in order to contribute, one would require a surplus of Jelly Belly jelly beans. I’m fresh out, but if you wish to open a thread on sampling via cocktails or alcoholic beverages, I can contribute.
That's actually a great idea... much more fun than jelly beans ;)
