I remember thinking like this when I first started vaping. It took me about 2 weeks to realize that it was impossible. Now, the last thing I want is for my vape to taste like a disgusting marlb red.

How long did it take you guys for your taste to change and enjoy vaping for what it is an not solely as an alternative to smoking. When did you became a vaper instead of a smoker?

I wanted Marlboro Lights.
The guy at my local B&M said "No, you don't."

I took his word for it and bought coffee flavor along with a small bottle of tobacco-ish mix.

Less than 24 hours later, I knew he was right. Even so, it took a while longer for vaping to evolve into a separate sport, maybe two or three weeks.

BTW, both e-liquids are still in my regular rotation.

When I was a smoker, I occasionally enjoyed a fine cigar (and may again when football season starts). I used to horrify my cigar afficianado friends by immersing the front half in a glass of Capt. Morgan or Bacardi 8, letting it sit for a minute, then letting it almost dry before lighting it (cigar snobs hate dippers).

I still like that, and I've managed to get close to the aroma using a rum fired Virginia tobacco and Dekang's Cohiba juice.

I really like the Johnson Creek Domestic, and Dekang's Desert Ship. I bought a 20ml bottle of a Bourbon whiskey flavord juice that I am going to mix with these to create a Whiskey Dip flavor. I can't wait to vape it.

I like the flavor of tobacco. I like the aroma of a fine cigar. I don't like the harshness and burned throat from combustion, and the fact that I can get the flavor without the mess (and attendant damage to my respiratory system) means I'm never going back to analog cigarettes.

At least for the time being, I remain a "recovering smoker."

When I started vaping I probably hade enough pipe tobacco blends laying around to open a smoke shop. What I quickly found was that it's impossible to duplicate a cigarette taste (or pipe taste) because vaping doesn't burn the tobacco, but I also found that it was easy to duplicate the things that were added to those tobacco blends (like apple, cherry, or hazelnut)
So now I vape a lot of apples, cherries, and hazelnuts.

Eh.. My favorite tobacco was captain black gold. I looked everywhere for the e-liquid and finally found it and the stuff to DIY.
Guess what? Turns that captain black flavoring is a liquid they put on tobacco to make it taste better. And THAT was the only flavor in tobacco that I liked!
Still do. But I vape mostly fruit and candy flavors, so I'm no longer an ex-smoker, I'm a vaper.

Im on day 13 smoke free and I am really enjoying the coffee flavors, but that is because I can not find the right tasting tobacco flavor. Everything ive tried is to much like a cigar, way to sweet or way too spicey.
Check out Naturally Extracted Tobaccos (NETs) and you may find what you're looking for.

I recommend these two, but there are many others...
    --Heather's Heavenly Vapes
    --Vaperite

As for me, I still gravitate mostly towards tobacco flavors.
But that doesn't mean I don't use blueberry, chocolate, coffee, and other flavors when I feel like it.

    That's the beauty of it.
    :)

it's funny that at the beginning we want something that tastes like a ciggy, but realize that coffee or candy or nearly ANYTHING tastes better!

for me took me a week lol

Just like at the beginning when we all wanted a cig-a-like form factor. Now half of us are vaping on mods with spinners and ground effects lighting, and the other half of us want to but haven't gotten there yet.

    Lol.

    Kidding.
    Mostly.

The pbusardo poll that's running right now on his site reflex this. More than 80% of vaper wants a manual button device.

I've come full circle over the past two months or so. I began like most with a tobacco flavored liquid, which was okay, but quickly moved to fruits and sweeter type vapes. Recently the tobaccos have found their way back into my rotation however, and have become my preferred flavor of the moment. That's one of the major pluses in vaping... being able to use a variety of flavors and keep things interesting.
