No they didn't thank you for the helpful advice.

The reason I asked is I'm coming to the End of a Nasty Grade-3 Sprained Ankle. Early on my Orthopedic recommended that I get a Leg Wedge to help with Swelling. But He also mentioned that it could help Minimize Blood Clotting in my Ankle.

Next Time you speak with your Dr., you might ask Him/Her about using one. And if so, How Often.

lol. What's the difference if they use a substance that was initial made to kill a small animal or if they use a new medicine that was designed to bilk you and/or your insurance company because it has a patent?

My grandfather too warfarin (aka rat poison) for over 20 years and lived to the ripe age of 92. To say, "Yeah, well maybe he would have lived to 102" is a non-argument.

Internet medication is far worse than "rat poison".

Is warfarin rat poison? Omg I joined the forum for help and advice, I'm more frightened than ever now.

Warfarin was apparently first invented as rat poison. That doesn't mean it's only usefulness is or should only be to kill rats. It kills rates by thinning their blood and making them bleed to death. That doesn't mean it's poisonous to a human. However, it is poisonous to humans, but if administered properly and checked regularly, then it can save your life and even improve it. When you are on warfarin (or other blood thinners) you have to get blood tests regularly to check to make sure your levels are appropriate. Many people on warfarin regularly get their dosages changed.

Digoxin is also a poison. But it's also used to keep an otherwise weak heart beating. But too much will kill you. My mother experienced that. Well, she didn't die, but she took too much by accident and landed in the hospital.

If garlic was used to first repel insects, does that mean you are eating insect repellent when you eat garlic?

Anyhow, it's irrelevant anyhow.

The point is this: is it advisable that you take up vaping when your doc told you to not smoke due to a delicate medical situation? No, simply no. (And I vape like a chimney smokes, but I'm not THAT delusional).

I'm a 52 y/o man who has just been diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg. I've smoked since I was 11 years old. I have not smoked for a week now. My query is that I am on blood thinners (tinzaparin) and am due a follow up echo as urgent outpatient. Is it safe for me to vape? Sorry for the long winded questions I'm just very scared. Thank you.

Like others have said--nobody here is qualified to dispense medical advice. Please talk to your doctor. Blood clots are not a laughing matter and nicotine is a vaso-constrictor.

Best of luck!
