I took a chance and ordered some eliquid from a vendor (don't want to name them) and, unfortunately, it tastes just like soap. I've steeped for a month already and still no change. Is there anything I can do with this eliquid (different chocolate flavors at 6mg nicotine and 50/50 P/G in 50ml bottles) to save it? I contacted the vendor and asked for his advice if there was anything I could do to get rid of the soapy taste and he basically told me that "taste is subjective" (which is true BUT soapy!!!!) but had nothing to say how I could rescue the eliquid. In all fairness, after I sent him an email stating my dismay at his unhelpful response he gave me a $50 credit to my account on his site but I will not be using it as I didn't like any of his other flavors either that I had ordered so will never be going back to buy from him anyway so the credit is useless to me. I just need someone to tell me if there is anything I can add to it to take that horrible soap flavor away.

Can't tell you anything other than to set it aside for a time when you might want to try it again. I did this for one of my juices, and found out later that I kind of enjoyed it.
As far as the $50 credit goes, maybe order some stuff that you haven't tried in very high nic strength. If you happen to like it, you can order the same flavor in very low and thin it down. If you don't like it, you can use it for DIY.
Hope this helps. :)

Can't help with the soapy taste, but .....

Your vendors $50 good-will credit is commendable, don't ignore it, perhaps it could help some friends quit smoking. I keep several old egos and clearos and have loaned them to friends with some of my juice samples, often flavors I'm not too fond of along with some great flavors, to let them play around and experience vaping for a week or more.... Helping several now get off the stinkies. Perhaps you can order a sampler with your credit for a similar 'pay it forward' effort, one persons soapy taste may be another's all day vape :)

if the vendor sells unflavored, use the credit to get that.
then try diluting the one you don't like. I have found that for me if a flavor is strong it will taste soapy or chemically to me. diluting with unflavored helps
I think it was VERY nice of the vendor to give you that credit, since taste is subjective :)

oh and PS, I love to vape unflavored!

Get verified and sell it in the classies. Also, though this may be a circuitous route, you could use the $50 store credit and then sell that in the classies, also. Personally, I don't care what vendor (or whether I like them or not) offers me $50 store credit, you better believe they have something that I am going to buy--even if just batteries or empty bottles.

I've never tasted soapy from juices, but definitely peppery, alcohol-y, and 'stale'. And add pungent and chemically to that list too... but never soapy. But yea... there's a lot of crap stuff out there. You'll definitely have to try a vendor or three before you kinda understand what you need and like. If you really don't like the juices, cut your losses and don't try to vape them. Don't force yourself to vape stuff that disgusts you, it will probably veer you away from wanting to vape and getting back on the smokes. I did that when I first started vaping, didn't like my juices so I just went to smokes instead.

I would just give or stash the juices away, and try another vendor.

The first month I started vaping a new store opened with a comparatively huge discount. I was like a kid in a candy store and ordered $150.00, after the discount and shipping break for quantity, of juices in 10 ml sizes and every single one was soapy. That was my intro to vaping! Six months later they're sitting in the cupboard and still soapy. They smell so bad they stunk up my cabinet right through the plastic bottles... really its nauseating... so I put each bottle in its own small glass jar with a tight lid. I don't even have to retry vaping them. All I have to do is open the glass jar lid... still awful. I'm telling you this so you know that some vendor's juices are just bad and its not a "taste is subjective" thing. I found my all day vape and many other juices I enjoy plus the ones I make myself so I'm glad I didn't let the soap turn me against vaping. Just hang in there. I promise, it will get better.

I had a "soapy" tasting juice today!

Just made a new unoxidized SS wick for my AGA-T+ and I usually use toothpaste (yes!) and hot water to wash out the oily manufacturing residue. Today I used liquid soap instead. Despite washing for 5 minutes, when I tried the new wick it still tasted soapy. After unrolling the wick and washing it again with toothpaste this time the soapy taste disappeared...

BTW..toothpaste works well to get rid of oils and hey..I put toothpaste in my mouth everyday..when soap gets in my mouth..blech.. :)

Could it be some soap residue from perhaps rinsing out your atty?

Hope this helps..
