So I spoke with John at vaportek USA and asked if I could open up the mod and tighten the ground screw that is behind the button I did that and it was really loose. Things seem better now the resistance is jiving with my other mods. It still jumps a hundredths of an ohm though once and a while. I'll wait until I get some nickel and check it out

Ok just got the second run hb dna40. They fixed the battery ground, spinning 510, and no longer use smoked plastic on the screen. Here's a pic of the internals.
It's certainly not hard to open the cover without breaking the seal if one is careful. On mine I was getting a .06Ω error which doesn't maybe sound like much unless using ni200 then it's pretty big. It was reading higher than what the resistance actually was. I corrected this by running the ground screw in an out a few time and making it a little tighter than it was. It is now reading 0.01 lower than my other two DNA40 mods.
From what I see the positive 510 pin can still spin. All is well for now.
So I put my dripper on and have a rock solid resistance that agrees with the rest of my mods
It depends on the plastic,if its some kind of indestructible completely waterproof tough nylon material,id give it a try
aside from the smoked lexan on 1st gen boxes, I only have one beef
battery drain while in sleep mode is way more than it should be
if you leave your battery in while you're away at work or overnight, when you come back to it it's lost way more voltage than it should have
so I take my battery out, problem solved, but it shouldn't happen

Hopefully you are using a volt meter and not the battery indicator on the display as that one is wonky.
So I got a 2nd run HB dna40... however It keeps giving me check atomizer across all of my atomizers (even my protank2 with premade head) and randomly works sometimes.
I've raised the 510 pin (it's adjustable) high enough so that the atomizer does not sit flush. I've tightened the ground screw, removed the washer, put the washer under the ground connecter, all result in the atomizer working for a few puffs then not working and going back to check atomizer without any adjustments.
I'm going crazy here, any ideas as to what's going on?

Could be several things...., contact your vendor and let them help ya out... still under warranty I guess??
It has a slot for air flow that makes it appear adjustable, all it will do is spin around and coil up the wire till it breaks off. It's NOT adjustable.
So if you push on it there no spring like action? Everything I read says the latest version is spring loaded. Mines only a few days old, just shipped from China maybe 10 days ago.
Or is 2nd run older units?
I've found the ground screw on this thing is nearly useless. It needs to be tight for it to read a correct resistance but if you tighten it too much the button sticks. I might exchange mine for a new one or maybe just fix the ground for good.

What he said. Solder the last case ground to the 510. Mine has been behaving for the past day but if it acts up again I will do that. They did fix the other 2 grounds though.
