I would get her really, really drunk and convince her to dress up in something naughty. Then, get her to do that little dance she does while you film her using your cellphone.

When she wakes up in the morning and gets over the hangover, tell her that she either quits, or the video goes on teh innerwebs.
Someone's been watching "The Newsroom". Remember how it ended?

I have a friend who claimed she wanted to quit smoking and start vaping - I gave her a couple ego minis, a charger, tanks, and a bottle of 24mg juice. A month later, she's still smoking every chance she gets, and only vapes when it's not convenient for her to smoke. I've tried talking to her, but it's painfully obvious that she's not really ready to quit yet. It's frustrating as all get-up, but she has to make the decision for herself.

I just bite my tongue when a negative comment wants to bubble up, and tout the benefits of vaping. Hopefully she'll come around!

I can't figure you guys out
When you ever be able to figure woman out?
God made them that way on purpose.
Just do the little things (kinda what they always tell us they want from us)
sneak away from her while she is smoking
keep smoking paraphernalia out of site and packed away.
keep an odor-ant spray around just for the heck of it.
keep lots of gum around

So, I started vaping two and a half months ago. I started with a V2 Cigs brand cigalike starter kit. I was ecstatic, and I completely quit analogs cold-turkey about a week later. I got my girlfriend to try it as well, and she liked it, but didn't like it enough to quit analogs. She said that it just isn't like smoking a real cigarette, it's just not the same to her.

I even went out of my way to buy her an extra charger, give her my extra automatic battery, and buy her a strong cigarette flavored e-liquid (Torque56 by Halo, also, I'm not a fan of tobacco flavors...I started vaping to AVOID the nasty flavor of cigarettes :p). She liked it, but it still wasn't the same to her!

I don't think it was because the nicotine was too low, because the nic content on it was 18mg/ml. I've gotten her to try a wide variety of different flavors, but she's stuck on analogs. I can't stand the way she smells after she smokes, and I feel like I'm kissing an ashtray (like none of us have ever heard THAT before ;))

So my question is, would you guys recommend any strategies to try to get her to convert? Also, do any of you guys have a similar problem, where your spouse/significant other won't quit smoking even though you've tried to convert them? I'd love to hear your stories, and/or any successful methods that you have used to convert a smoker.

How about you let her enjoy her cigarettes?

There are VERY few things I've done in life because someone has made me do it, or convinced me to do it.

Most things in life I've done, are because I HAD to, or because I WANTED to.....NOT because someone else wanted it.

Just being honest with you.

Now, if she WANTS to try vaping, then by all means, come here and ask for advice to help her get into it, until she finds her sweet spot. If she isn't interested though, I wouldn't push her.

I read this and thought of the OP......the nerve of you!!!

You quit when you were ready so why are you forcing her to do it just because you did?
Before you quit smoking, you and she shared the same smell and you both tasted like that same ashtray you equate to her now.

Whether you realize this or not--vaping isn't for everyone.
More than once you said she told you "it's just not the same to her."

This is the one thing I detest about vapors--new or old; some tend to become sanctimonious like somehow people around them who still smoke are now worth put downs and insults.

What are you going to do if she's NEVER ready to quit.........leave her?

I remember when I was younger I had a friend in our crowd who quit smoking
whenever you lit up a cigg he would cover his face with his shirt
I've seen different but similar things maybe make a face or whatever from ex smokers
Like somehow now that they don't smoke they are above the smoker
I've always detested it and now I'm about 7 months not smoking and I still detest it
If I go 30 years Ill still detest it

I see once more I have to step in and help the troubled masses. The thing is, you have to ask yourself just how much you love this girl and how hot is she? If she's an uggoo you've been dating until someone better comes along, then there is no point in hanging on. Just cut the chain now and move on. Yeah, yeah, I know it sounds shallow but everyone wants to date above their talent level. We're men damn it - no one said we were swimming in the deep end of the pool. Anyways, if she's hot, just sprinkle just a little bit of crack in what you think will be her favorite flavor ejuice (If Starbucks can do it, so can we! How else to explain people paying $5 for a cup of coffee) and have her try it. One vape will get her hooked. Pretty soon, she'll be begging you to vape! She'll be begging you to vape so much, your food budget will be cut in half because she wont want to eat, she'll just want to vape she she'll look even hotter! It's a win/win for everyone! Wooohooo! (Just don't put in too much, remember you love this woman. You don't want her living under an off ramp in 6 months wearing filthy clothes and asking for change and cleaning windshields for vape money.)

Your welcome from the Love Doctor.

I have a few of these in my circle who when they became ex-smokers would treat current smokers like they were disgusting and beneath them.

That's not really fair. I have always treated everyone like they were disgusting and beneath me even when I smoked. My wife says it's my way of handling my massive cornucopia of insecurities I know what massive means because she says if I get any bigger Macy's wants to put strings on me and float me over their parade. I don't have any insecurities about corn, let alone about a ucopia about it. I'd don't know, maybe its because I'm not that bright as she says but I say my idea of a hotdog filled with CocaCola would cut lunch time in half. You could drink and eat at the same time! She says I keep people at a distance. I say, "Have you smelled most people? This isn't France, put on some deodorant!" (Note to self, buy deodorant on the way to work tomorrow, Gladis in the office is a little ripe)

Lol that was awesome, but it could backfire and then he has a crackhead for a girlfriend who will do anything or anyone to get her fix, heaven only know what she might bring home, and penicillin won cure everything she may bring to the bedroom.

My advice to the OP would be to just leave it alone - drop the trying to convince her. If she's not ready to stop smoking - if the decision is not her decision - there is nothing that you can do to force it. When I stopped smoking, my husband voluntarily restricted his smoking to his hobby room and outside. After I had been vaping for about 6 months, I got him set up with a starter kit, which he used for awhile (and cut back on his smoking). He even talked about improvements he felt physically, but he has never stopped smoking. Now, I think he only vapes in places he can't smoke - like my car, or hotels when we're traveling, etc.

We talk about vaping in general - I tell him about things I read here, for example, or he tells me he talked with someone who was vaping outside his work, etc., but I don't push him about it. He clearly knows the benefits and has the set up to use if he wants to use it, and he chooses not to use it most of the time. But we've been together for almost 40 years, and smoked together most of those years, so in the big picture, for me it's not worth ruining our relationship over.
