Hey guys,

Im looking to buy some more VG base cause I DIY...
Im having trouble finding large bottles like I at least want 1 liter but the vapeshops here only sell
10ML bottles(cause of law in EU,amsterdam) and its expansive I would need to buy 100 bottles to get 1 liter and would couldbe like 300 bucks since 10ml is 3euro So F that...

Now my question is I found other shops that does sell 1 liter VG (non vape stores) but all the VGs I find are "food grade" and not USP or whatever all it says is 99,5% and the other I found was 99,7% both are food grade ,are these OK to vape?
Or will it taste gross
Its also alot cheaper about 20-25euro for a liter..

But yeah 99,5%-99,7% food grade VG vapable?

I have never had a problem with it...... Like @Territoo mentioned, there is some good VG sold off of Amazon.......... As for your question about the "food grade" VG where you are at, it would probably be just fine.......... I vape some of the cheap food grade stuff and it works for me without bad taste..... Heck , from time to time, I will even purchase the cheap bottles of Glycerin sold around here at a local Wal Mart store and it vapes just fine......... Many debates have happened on this forum centered around VG and there are many people who are very particular about what VG they use.... I am not one of those people..... The purer the VG you buy then the more expensive the manufacturing process.... But even a cheap 99.5 % USP VG from Wal Mart means that it is almost pure VG with only 0.5% being extraneous material. Of course, that 0.5% is never listed as to what it may be (go figure). But if you think about it, nothing in nature is really 100% pure.

I've had some karpy VG over the years, with the worst one coming from Amazon (went straight down a drain). 4-5 years ago I started buying all of my PG & VG from Bulk Apothecary. It's been perfect every time. As close to tasteless as I've ever had (which is exactly what I want).

Like everything vape, this opinion too is subjective.

You're up too early @DPLongo22 LOL ............ There are various companies selling VG off of Amazon and the one I often purchase has zero funny flavor (tasteless)....... Maybe you just got a bad one....

A lot of this "taste" phenomenon concerning VG has to do with what they make the VG out of. Not all VG is made from the same base materials........... Anyway, I have never had a taste problem concerning VG...... But I don't have the most sensitive pallet either I suppose..... The Amazon stuff I get has zero odor or taste.......... I have however had a couple of times where the VG arrived and it was leaking all over the place. But that can happen from most any supplier.

I know people who have said they would never be caught vaping Wal Mart supplied VG....... I have a tiny bottle of it sitting here that I just looked at and there is zero odor and zero taste from the liquid (at least that I can taste).... I grab a few bottles of it each time I am at Wal Mart as it saves me from having to order so much bulk VG though the mail system.

What works for me may not (probably not LOL) work for anyone else :)

When I mixed my own vape liquid, I used to buy Pharma grade glycerine from chain chemists and I'd dilute it with 10% water ( distilled if you are picky ) to make Aqueous Glycerine. It worked fine and gave me no problems during the three years I used it.

I'm in the UK now permanently, but I used the same system in Spain previously too.

I've been up and working since 0500, Ax. Troubles in paradise. ;)

I've had good stuff from Amazon too, but the one that was bad was BAAAAAAD! Tasted like something out of the Bristol-Myers Squibb labs from when I used to work there. I'm not a patient person when it comes to vape stuff. What doesn't work gets discarded and never tried again.

BA's stuff is the best I've ever had, consistently. I used to buy mostly from MyFreedomSmokes, which was good then but now comparatively just "okay" (to BA). It was also a lot more expensive.

Sorry to hear about the bad VG experience.... There are probably 20 or more Companies selling VG on Amazon and I may have lucked out and found a good supplier there.... Nicotine Giant also sells large volumes of VG but I don't know what the stuff is like.....

Trouble in Paradise? I will shoot you an email in a bit and see how you are doing my friend.... Hope things are OK.....

It'll be maybe 4 years since I last mixed my own, but then a litre of Glycerine from a UK chemist came in at anout £1.00 to £1.50 which was about £5.00 a UK gallon. In Spain it was about the same in Euros. Prices though have likely gone up in the interim.

I have never made any Aqueous Glycerine (not exactly anyway)..... I have used water in my VG before but only in a small amount.

    Agree 100%.

Like you I've only been buying PG and VG from Bulk Apothecary for many years. They are one of the largest nationwide distributors of VG. They stock over 100,000 lbs of VG and can ship it up to 45,000 lbs via tanker truck.

"Our pure kosher USP vegetable glycerin is top quality and GC tested for purity."

Hands-down the best. It's no contest really.

Yeah, Bulk Apothecary is always good. Used them exclusively for a long time. With Amazon Prime shipping is free.

Only time I had a problem was at the start of Covid. I ordered a gallon of VG and a gallon of PG just as things started to go haywire. The PG arrived fine. The VG arrived loose in a large cardboard box with the top squashed down and bent over, and a crack that seemed to go all the way through the plastic. I called it in and they refunded my money but they couldn't send a replacement because they had run out. It still showed on their site at way over the normal price.

It worked out for me, just poured it into the old jug so I got a gallon free.

It was probably you who put me onto them, SMT. If so, THANK YOU!

It has been a mutually beneficial relationship, for sure. :vapor: :vapor: :vapor: :vapor: :vapor:

Yeah, before the pandemic, VG and PG were pretty cheap. Then people started to buy it up, especially PG, to make their own hand sanitizer. The prices shot way up and availability went down. It has never recovered from the pandemic.
