My lone Pico got a weeks worth of use before getting tossed in the stash. Not a big fan of how it feels in my hand and the single cell battery life with even toodle puffing builds was unexceptable.

Oddly I found the Pico-Mega more to my liking. The size and shape plus the 26650 battery life put it on par with my other 26650 mods I have. I liked it so much I purchased 2x more of them for the stash.

Funny, since I have USB charging at my desk at work a single 18650 mod can serve as "drive duty". A Evic VTC Mini has been filling that role for sometime now. Fairly small and light (with Lemo2 mounted) the combo works without any 510 issues.

For REALLY SMALL and LIGHT I've gone with the Target Mini with a OBS Crius mounted. It will only last a few hours on a charge but with USB charging nearly everywhere the lack of size and weight (and the dual coil atomizer!) make it a very pocketable cloud producing little power house.

I've resigned to having single 18650 and smaller mAH mods as novelty items and purchase ether 26650 mods or 2x18650 mods (for the dual coil setups) so I don't feel like I'm always swapping mods for one that has a charge on it. Last summer I took a 2x26650 mod on a weekend camping trip and did not have to swap batteries. (the ultimate in battery run time)

I would not be surprised if the Pico was eleaf's #1 selling mod. They seem to just keep coming out with new colors!
On work days when I can't vape freely a pico gets through a full day with no recharging. This is not true on most days off. For day long field trips I too have the Pico Mega option. I don't carry that mod often. For me smaller is better plus I avoid carrying loose batteries in the clothes I'm wearing. Pico is fine most days and sometimes the Mega gets used. If there is better temp control than the vtc mini and pico I'm blissfully unaware and plan to stay that way until we find out if there's going to be government interference.

The inexpensive eLeaf/Joytech/Wismec mods work fairly well for TC (as do a few other brands) with a few disclaimers tossed in:
    • I've only used Ni200, Ti and NiFe48 and NiFe70 with mine. I would not be surprised if some of the SS flavors with very low TCR's might not regulate all that well with these devices.
    • Setting the TC power level to FULL and then expecting this class of mod to take care of the rest is not a good idea. The overwhelming majority of my builds are "toodle puffing class" and I drive them accordingly with these mods: 15-30W/J or just enough power to reach my temperature setting within a reasonable amount of time. (I push fire when I grab the mod)
    • Grossly overdriving your build will lead to noticeable "pulsing" and irregular output or non-regulation of the vapor.
Outside of cost there are a number of reasons I favor this class of mod over some of the more expensive options out there. (I own examples of most of them) No small wonder the Pico is so popular - it is a decent featured and reliable inexpensive mod.

Since Billybc96 was asking about DNA75's, I'll toss in my opinion. I own about 6 Pico's, and like many of you a ton of other mods. But, as a mostly TC user, I keep finding myself going back to my DNA mods, there are NO surprises in TC mode with any wires, including SS. My current favorite is the Vaporshark Switchbox DNA75. So far there are no DNA's as small as a Pico. That's the compromise. As someone else mentioned above, I'm lucky enough, and work hard enough that I don't have to consider price as my first priority, though I don't chase after custom unicorn mods. The most expensive mod I own, was one of my first, a Vaporshark DNA200, which cost about $190. So if you go mostly by short height and low cost, the PICO is hard to beat. If you seek the best TC experience in my, and others opinions, then you compromise on the height and pay more for a DNA device. Hopefully we'll start seeing some smaller DNA mods when more DNA60 boards get out there.

    Wait! Built in battery?

    Nooooooooooo

Yeah, I'm a single 18650 vapor. Of course my tiny mods are built in battery mods, but I think I've finally gotten over that novelty, after collecting far too many, and never being thrilled with any of them.

I'm surprised that some folks here don't carry spare batteries on them when they are away from home - except maybe in a suitcase when on a vacation. I always carry two silicone sleeved spare batteries in a little padded pocket pouch whenever I'm out and about.

I chain MTL vape, so one battery is never enough for me, especially when I'm out driving for hours on end, and then I still have a single cell battery charger plugged into the car at all times. I switch out my Pico's batteries 2-3 times a day, going through as much as 15ml or more of juice a day.

I feel naked when I'm out and about without any spare batteries, even on short grocery store trips - just in case a crazy emergency of some kind suddenly strikes. I'd hate to be caught off guard without power. Strangely, I hardly ever use the charging cable, except when I'm updating the Pico's firmware, but that is because battery changeouts are so easy to do with the Pico - and I've always got spare batteries on me.

I'm looking forward to seeing if using a single 26650 battery device changes any of these habits for me, but I suspect not. I think I will always prefer to have a spare battery or two on hand - just in case anything unexpected occurs.

I never carry spares as well as never remove my batteries. They almost always get charged in the mod. (some very rare exceptions)

While I do have a few mods that don't offer USB charging, they are rarely used because of the lack of that feature.

I'd rather simply carry a mod with enough mAH then futz around with replacing with spares.

I carried spare stuff out and about for the first 18 months and got over that. I do like to leave the house with a topped off charge. I keep a spare mod, atomizer, and liquid at work because it's not practical to leave just because a rig stops working. There's no way I'll be stopping at a gas station to buy smokes, that's over. To keep things simple I try to keep power to a minimum and avoid liquid that gunks coils.

Well, yeah, I am compromising on height, and girth a bit too for that matter, but I'll get that DNA chip in a device I think I will like a lot anyway. It will be a significantly lighter weight device too, so that is another one of the gains counterbalancing the losses of the compromise. And I'll still have my Picos too. They won't suddenly disappear from my inventory. I've been vaping for like 7 years now, only recently getting into RTAs, so I think it is about time I get a higher end mod - to try at least one out for myself. I am also curious about using other wire alloys than SS 316L for TC. I think the whole DNA chip package will help me experiment with that, as I just keep getting more and more into the whole TC'd MTL vaping thing.

Hello everyone! I am thinking buying the pico but i can see that it only takes 22mm tanks(maybe 23mm). Can i put a goon clone rdta 24mm with a heatsink in this mod?
If the heat sink is tall enough to clear the battery cap, it could be done. The FT ones are taller than the cap, but I haven't tried any other heat sinks because I don't have others. I tried the FT heat sinks with smaller tanks, but got tired of scraping my fingers trying to swap batteries with the heat sink on the mod.

The bad part will be that the wider tank might block the battery cap so that you can't get to the battery without taking everything off. In my opinion, it isn't going to look nice with all the different diameters, but I like things to match up.

I got it thanks for the answer. I thought that a 24mm tank wont be so bad on a 22mm heatsink. Ill give it a try!

I've got a 22mm heat sink I got for using the Kayfun Mini V3 Plus on my Pico. The tank itself is about 22mm at the base, but a few millimeters up there is some knurling that sticks out a bit which would not otherwise clear the battery cap without using the 6mm high heat sink. The setup works, but as cats5365 said, "it isn't going to look nice", plus changing batteries with the tank on will be an extra pain - as you will always have to remove the tank to change the battery. If you are okay with all that, go for it, but I don't think you will be all that satisfied in the end. I think you would be better using a different mod, or a different tank.

The Pico and the Smok AL85 Baby are essentially the same size...(both have a "Top-Loaded Threaded Battery Cap")...

The Pico has a small screen...the Smok AL85 Baby has a quite large screen...

The Pico can accommodate atomizers up to 23mm...the Smok AL85 Baby up to 25mm...

The Pico has a quite small Fire Button (which makes my thumb joint ache after 5-10 pushes)...the Smok AL85 Baby has a quite comfortable (and easy to find/squeeze) Firing Panel...
