As if I needed another TC mod, but I snagged one from GB for £19!! Arrived yesterday. Havent fired it up but its a good looking device and very well built. Screen still sucks but for the price of a takeaway pizza, hard to complain!

Got mine in today.. From Gearbest
I am still learning how to use Temp Control
NiChrome 80
26 AWG 2.5 coil reading .08 Ohm
Using Rayon in Lemo 2
Seems you can adjust Watts in Temp mode
While in temp mode Hold menu button and down
Went from 60 W to 40 w 480 degrees
Way better than my 40 W istick

Any suggestions?
What settings are everybody using?

glad to hear you got your TC60 today
(did you get diff colored panels ?)

your not using NiCh80 as Temp Control wire are you ?
that's not a TC wire

it's Nickel 200 or Titanium
- Tempered Ni200 Pure Nickel Wire
- Nichrome Series 80 Resistance Wire

- Titanium Wire (Surgical Grade 1)

:)

Over There
I own the 60w Eleaf, have had it for two weeks. I've been using it steadily every day.
While in no way am I qualified to review it there are a few points to make.
I like the size, shape and controls. I have used it up to 550 degrees with no burn. I get great taste and good clouds (good not great)
Battery is easy to replace, and the ability to recharge it while it's on the mod is very handy as the most I get out of a battery is a few hours.
I do notice a big drop off in both flavor and clouds when the battery is down to 1/4 charge, then when I replace or connect it up, the Vapes are hot as hell for several draws.
I like the Melo 2 tank, wish someone would make an RDA for it. Really nice to be able to fill the tank without taking the top or bottom completely off. Nice sliding door that works well. No leaks at all so far.
Also, I think Eleaf is trying to set a record in how small print can be in the "manual."
Users with reading glasses, better find a good magnifying glass to help.

If asked to recommend it to someone, I really am not sure if I would. I think I would tell them to compare it to others of similar size and abilities.

what battery (18650) are you using ?
sounds like it could be better maybe ????

BOTH/Either of these will work in the melo 2 / iJust 2 / Atlantis (aspire coils)

- Project Sub-Ohm SauceCode RBA Rebuildable Atomizer Head Kit

- Aspire Triton RTA RBA System

howdy all, just got mine today.stuck a goblin on it and fired it up.started at 30watts and it is doin great.going to find the sweet spot.Using duel kanthal @ .065.Haven't got anything rolled in tita. or nickel yet, anxious to see the TC in action.got a few batteries to try in it,sony 4,LG HG2 and efest 20 amp plus.So far it is keeping the efest 20A going for a while.

I also have a Mini Koopor 60 TC and it's built like a tank, love it.I am really having a hard time with the istick battery door.It keeps wanting to pop off/tilt on me when firing.Just the way I hold it I guess.

wow, that sure is weird (almost impossible)

door with (4) magnetic Legs
  • door maybe bent
  • battery not fully seated in
  • pull ribbon in the way
  • door upside down

with the legs set into a pocket, seems could only be good......

good luck, and be sure to let us know what becomes of it

well, checked both ways for the door.ok
seated/reseated battery several times.ok
tucked pull ribbon-layed ribbon across battery
door looks/seems straight,to my eyes anyway
If I push on top of the door, bottom wants to pop out and vise versa. It's seems to me the magnet posts are just a bit short to engage lock up.small issue though.

I almost got an eleaf today, but chickened out. Got so used to the Vamo's I'm afraid to try anything else. Maybe next time I order juice I'll take the plunge.

Its a nice device. Well built and does the business...but...it is still as badly underpowered/calibrated as the 40W, at least for Ti. Running a 0.34 Ti build at 540F in Ti and 380/390 in Ni in a Origenny to get a nice warm vape. Not a big deal but I dont understand why in the second iteration of this, they havent sorted this out!

Anybody using Ni200? How is it?

edit: I should say really that for less than £20, it is absolutely excellent!

Does anybody know if the screen has a covering? It looks kinda dim when I unboxed it

Mine did not have a protective film on the screen when purchased, but it was open-box in the display case so that doesn't mean there isn't one when straight from the factory. The screen seems bright enough except when in direct sunlight and even then it's still readable.

Anybody have any feedback on this mod in temp mode. I have watched some reviews but they all seem to be first look type reviews. My local shop has these in stock so thinking of picking one up for work. I ordered an IPV D2 but the carrier seems to have lost it a few weeks ago so I am not holding my breath:)

As a matter of disclosure, this is the first Sub/TC mod I've owned. I purchased the kit with the Melo 2 tank and the 0.3 Kanthal, 0.5 Ti and 0.15 Ni coils included.

First, the really bad thing is that you have to read the excruciatingly small-print manual to learn the functions to use the TC aspect effectively. (I had found a PDF version of the manual but can't recall which site I pulled it from; the PDF is much easier to read for us old-ish folks who need readers to see.)

Once you learn that you need to lock the coil resistance for TC mode to work properly, I'd say it works very well. Locking the coil resistance is crucial - it's a nasty experience if you don't. Trust me on this. 'Nuff said. ;) I'm running the Ti coil right now (0.46ohms) with with an 85VG/15PG juice at 53.5w @ 530F in the Melo 2 with the airflow about 75% open and it delivers a nice warmish vape with good flavor and cloud. I have yet to try the Ni coil, but that's going to go in soon so I can evaluate its performance. Currently my local vendor only carries the Ni coils, so I want to run the Ti coil until it gives up the ghost and see what the coil life is. I'm about 7 days in on it right now and it's still performing well. I'll have to factor in my abuse of the Ti coil when I first started using it in TC mode by not having the resistance locked in.. I think a coil life of two weeks is not unreasonable to expect for the Ti coil at this point.

The unit defaults to 60w when you use TC mode the first time and that's pushing the unit IMHO. At 60w, the unit struggles to maintain the temperature mark and will "surge" for the first few seconds then settle down to a mostly-consistent draw. I'd attribute this to the TC module having a hard time at full wattage trying to hit and maintain the desired temp. Dropping the wattage down to the 50w range evens it out and makes for a much more consistent draw and vape. There's a small lag of perhaps one second on your first hit at the lower wattages until the coil comes up to temp, but I think that's tolerable given the operation characteristic at the full 60w setting. Follow-up hits once the coil has some heat in it are quick to hit temp and are nice and consistent.

In comparison to when I was using the 0.3 Kanthal coil (same juice @ ~30w) the Temp Control experience is significantly better in my opinion. Concurrent hits on the 0.3 Kanthal got the unit hot, even at 30w, and would make for burnt hits. In TC mode with the wattage adjusted down I have yet to get a burnt hit even when taking five or six consecutive hits from it.

Thank you for the welcome, and I'm glad to join this new community.

Previous kit prior to the TC60 was a couple of Aspire VV batts and ET-S atomizers. Those were my "hook" into becoming a full-time vaper, and I continue to use them for those times when chucking clouds isn't desired.

Thoughts on the TC60? See this for what I think of the TC function. Overall, as a kit for stepping into sub-ohm and TC, I'd have to give it decent marks at this stage. Being able to use standard 18650's in it was a big draw for me. The Melo 2 is a decent tank - filling is easy, good airflow adjustment though I'd like something there that gave tactile feedback to moving the airflow ring as it's hard to see the slot opening at times. Makes good clouds and flavor at reasonable power settings; gets better when run in TC mode, which is where I think I'll stay for the time being. Probably the only thing that I wish was available for it is standard coils in the 1.5 - 1.8 range; the 1.8 Triton coils fit in the Melo, but the contact to the mod can be spotty and the Triton coil is somehow too "tight" in the Melo base.

I'd recommend the TC60 to a friend, and I liked it enough to buy a second one. I run a second flavor in the other unit and will drop the ET-S' on it for convenience. And FWIW, I prefer the feel of the brushed metal frame over the black anodized finish.
