I should have my new istick 100W TC tomorrow!! I just got notification that DHL handed it off to USPS today, so I will definitely be stalking my mailman tomorrow. I can't wait to get my hands on this thing. I have a married pair of fresh batteries all ready to go. Now, which tank/coil combo will I use? Decisions, decisions.... :D

Excellent.
I really need another SS TC mod, or two, these sidelined pairs are getting restless.

I can't say I'm excited for the 100TC, but honestly... nothing in the moderate price range is grabbing my attention.
So... barring some ....-up with it, I'll probably take a chance on one soon.
Honestly, for the price ($37.26 at Heaven Gifts with the 8% off coupon code), if this white one works well I will probably get a black one, too, so I can swap out the doors and slap a skin on one of them to have a couple of customs! :) After watching a couple of video reviews I have pretty high hopes for it. If it is as accurate as my little 40w TC iStick was I can definitely justify owning 2, even to my husband. :D

I received a black iStick 100W TC today in the mail.
20160201_222410.jpg

The two battery doors are totally interchangeable. The fire button is actually the top magnet on one side, so the top magnet sticks out a little so when you press the battery door, it pushes in that magnet and fires the mod. The display happens to be the exact same display that Wismec uses in the RX200. Compared to the Cuboid, it is about 1/8 inch taller, about 3/8 inch wider and about 3/16 inch thinner. In my personal experience, and from using both the iStick and the Cuboid, I actually prefer how the Cuboid feels in my hand. Because of the smaller width, but thicker mod, your hand wraps around the Cuboid much more comfortably. The performance is on par with the Cuboid. The battery doors are a really snug fit, and it has a firmer firing feel than the XCube 2, which fires in the same manner, but feels much looser. The iStick has a lock switch on the top of the mod which will lock the fire button so it won't accidentally fire if you are sticking the mod into your pocket or holding the mod in your hand, which happened to me all the time with the XCube 2. However, the lock switch feels like a mechanical safety that blocks the fire button from being depressed. The lock switch is extremely hard to use. It does have a notch in it that you can use a fingernail to grab and assist you in operating the switch, and you actually do need to use it because the switch is very stiff and requires a bit of force in order to move. The form factor, with the rounded sides, are very reminiscent of the old iStick 50. Underneath the display screen is three buttons, the top two used to make your adjustments up and down. The bottom button is used to switch between the different modes. Press and hold the button and it slowly cycles between the modes every two seconds. When in TC mode, you adjust the wattage by holding the bottom button and then pressing the up and down buttons. The display flashes to the wattage and then it adjusts up and down. This makes it a bit difficult to adjust up and down because the display keeps switching between temperature and wattage whenever you press and release either of the buttons.

I've tried vaping it in both SS and power mode with the Cubis and in Ni mode with an Atlantis 2 with a Ni coil and the vape is similar to the RX200 and the Cuboid.

Thanks, @jseah! It sounds fairly straightforward, which is great for me. :D I am not so keen on the screen switching thing, but I have had that problem with other mods, too. It's annoying, but hopefully won't be a deal breaker. It does sound like it's accurate, though, which is great to hear. How does battery life seem to be so far?

this new TC100W doesn't have that top and botton cover like the older istick series (10, 20, 50, or the TC40W)

with the new "unibody" design, do you think we can disassembly TC100W "easily" for a clean and thorough repainting job?

(whoa no need to break down your new mod for us, a quick peek at the screw position in the cells compartment might do [emoji41] )

Couldn't help but notice paint chips on the istick at the bottom around the doors. Did you do that or that is how it arrived? Sorry it's a OCD thing  I have one on order and if it arrives like that I will be very upset.

I think it is the lighting. There are no paint chips. Here is a close up of the area that was showing the "chips". I removed the battery door and as you can see, it is not a chip in the paint but is rather just the flash reflecting off of the paint.

I should also add the battery door is a snug fit (although there is a visible gap between the battery door and the top plate of the mod after the battery door is in place). The magnets are pretty strong, and if either the top magnet or bottom magnet grabs first (so the door goes into place slightly angled), you cannot get the door completely in place because it will snag. You need to hold the battery doors in such a way that both the top and bottom goes into place at the same time.

The best way to get the battery door in place perfectly every single time is to line up one side of the battery door first and then pivot the battery door so that both the top and bottom magnets grab at the same time.

Here is a shot of the battery compartment. There are two screws there and another two screws in the battery compartment on the other side. Not really sure how this mod will disassemble though. Being painted black, it is difficult to see the seams.

Actually after looking at it a little more, I think once you remove the screws, the battery sled comes out. Don't know how the boards, etc. are attached inside.

I got mine today and it's the wrong color! I got the gray one. The first tank I tried on it was a nickel coil, which performed exactly like it does on the X-Cube II. I don't know what it is with me and nickel, but I just can't seem to get a good vape off of one on any device in TC. Sooo, I switched it out for the Reaper Plus tank with a kanthal head in it and things were much better. The coil reads 0.41 ohms, which is what it reads on my other TC devices, and I am vaping it at 30.0 watts. My tank gets pretty warm after a couple of big draws at that wattage but if I lower the wattage it takes too long to get a good hit. This is only my second tank on this mod, though, so I will keep playing with it to see if I can get it dialed in better. I took some pictures next to the X-Cube II and the Disrupter for size comparison. @iwriduan I also took a picture of the front and back of the doors so you can see the paint on both sides, but it is a little blurry! The outside is matte but it is glossier than the inside of the doors. I don't know if you are planning to paint the inside of the doors, too, but they are different textures. I would think this gray one would be very easy to paint because the finish is not at all glossy.

Thanks for the write-ups, both of you. A lot of missing details filled in.
Unfortunately... a few of those details are not what I was hoping for.

I'm holding my i100 up to my xCube and this new one looks to be just marginally smaller than the i100. That's not saying much though... there's a lot of empty space in the old one.

Oddly, a new tank yesterday has me using my old i50 for the first time in quite a while.
It's a sharp reminder of just how great these are... when working properly.
From last spring, when 50w was substantial, so comfortable in the hand, and very light for the power and capacity (4400 mAh LiPo).
Damn you Eleaf design/QC... you guys screwed the pooch, and your reputations, so hard.

So I'm back on the fence with this new one, with nary an interesting alternative. :(

What details are you looking for? I can't tell you how it compares sizewise to the iStick 100w, but it is taller and wider than the 50 but I don't have that one to compare it to, either. My 50w died last summer. :( I would say for the price this is a great mod so far, though. It does have a lot of features the higher priced mods have, and the fact that it can run on either 1 or 2 batteries is really nice. I like the way it feels in my hand. I have long fingers and the shape is perfect for me.

Because you posed it next to the xCube, I could guestimate its' size with my i100.
I could accept that, though I think they could all stand to trim some fat.
The Reuleaux has spoiled a lot of us. :p

If anything, I'm most disappointed by the UI peculiarities that jseah spelled out.
I very rarely use my D2 thanks to the annoying P4Y menu system.
I'd hate to have this one give me the same feeling. :(

eta: The i100's parallel sled allows for single cell use as well.
Never found a use for it. Maybe with TC in the mix ?

I need to go through the manual (so glad they included one!!). The font is incredibly small, though. I am seriously going to have to find some strong readers to see it! I have some somewhere, so I will do that tomorrow.

@cooladdict thanks a bunch for the detail pics ;) it would take a while for TC100W to be available anywhere in my country, but i already have some idea what to do with it :p. i believe eleaf use a cassette type of module insertion (just like TC40W, the board slide into a rail in the mod body, but the board for this mod insert sideways, just like vtc mini but while the vtc mini board's embedded to the cell holder with TC100W we need to remove the cell holder first then we can have access to the board) (IMHO)

anyway, yea i will strip the TC100W to have a complete clean repaint job :D. imagine a hot pink on this unibody design mod, gona be fab.

i really really can't comment on the performance of this mod, but CMIIW we can only compare the performance of TC100W with TC40W and TC60W. but with the up-gradable capabilities there will always be room for improvements.
btw @cooladdict, try the black battery doors on ur gray TC100W, the black doors will in sync with the black display :hubba:

Yes, yes... you like pink, you're hot for pink... you want the world to be PINK!
We get it.

I'm just kidding, though you haven't posted any pics of pink mods yet.

It just strikes me as funny, because here... reds are fine for guys but we have a homophobic aversion to pink.

Which is a sociological oddity.
Because... in the United States (and elsewhere) up until, I'll say the 1920s, baby girls were dressed in sedate blues... and boys in adventurous brighter pink.

Then it flip-flopped... I don't know why.

I have a mag glass to augment my readers for that, but only the two hands. Makes builds harder.

So last week I was on an odds and ends spree on Amazon and grabbed one of those mid level headband magnifiers. Unfortunately, I didn't check the seller... it's on a slow boat.

Next month maybe.
