Did a little traveling within the last few months with my trusty Riva 510.

I do not check luggage when I fly. In my carry on I pack 3 batteries, two charges, a handful of atomizers and cartridges, and two 15ml of e-liquid. In my jacket pocket I carry a fully assembled Riva and one 15 ml bottle of e-liquid.

I passed through security at Minneapolis, Atlanta, Detroit, and Orlando in the last 60 days. My bag/ jacket did not even get a second glance at those airports.

No troubles from TSA and my e-cig stuff traveled unmolested.

Spent a week at Disney which does have a few designated smoking areas. Since I couldn't be bothered to go hunt one down, I stealth vaped in the main park, Epcot, and Disney downtown when I wanted to and had no issues from their security or other patrons of the park. I vaped freely in my room at the resort hotel and at the beach area, it was no big deal.

I know some people stealth vape on planes. I prefer not to. However, after a 30 hour layover thanks initially to weather and thereafter due to Delta's general incompetence to re-book people on one of their barely contained bucket of bolts airplanes (I was re-booked 5 times in 24 hours. Once for weather and the rest for mechanical/crew issues. The plane I ended up on had a flat tire they discovered as we were pulling from the gate and heading to the run way...back to the terminal....again....Still not as bad as the folks in the next gate who had all of the excitement of an emergency aborted take off as they barreled down the run way and none of the satisfaction of a refund. Don't get me started on Delta 'red coat service').

Where was I?

Ah yes. My pleasant 30 hour stay in Minneapolis. ;)

I did vape in the airport bathroom, but I kept it stealthy. No reason to invite trouble since I couldn't seem to find any info on the net about their vaping policies as I waited for an open flight.

In the last year I've also gone through LAX, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, and St. Louis. Had no issues with my equipment making the flight with me.

Atlanta does have a smokers lounge, but it's more like a greasy, filthy, tar covered, .... scattered, ash ridden, run down cigarette cavern. Seriously, do they even try to clean that room out? How about putting up some ceiling tiles to cover up the electrical wiring above or maybe mopping the floor from time to time. As another poster here in the Travel forum just observed, best to stay clear of the lounge at ATL if possible.

So, in a nut shell, traveling with an e-cig on a plane through those airports was no problem, and vacationing in an area which is 95% no smoking was a breeze.

Tampa International use to have a disgusting indoor room as well. Now, they have what are basically metal cages outside of each wing/terminal, as seen here: 27.983014,-82.532451 - Google Maps

It gets sooooo hot out there in the summer and they do not even have the courtesy to put fans in those cages. And of course it is completely not sheltered from the elements.
