Dannyben, how about an update on how it's performing for you please? And how is that battery holding up?

This is by far, my new favorite mod.

I wasn't too thrilled with the way YiHi handled the v1 chip, and originally wasn't going to purchase another chip of theirs, but they listened to customers and gave that final update (reversing their initial poor decision) for the manual tcr.

Still, I didn't believe the hype of why the v2 chip was needed over the v1, but in the day and a half I have this, I am quite impressed. It looks like the leap-frog game between yihi and Evolv is continuing and this chip coupled with the new QXi software just put yihi back on top. I've got a sxmini M, Boxer V1 and Boxer DNA133. While I am only speaking from my sense of using this now (and from what others are similarly stating in the ML class thread), this chip is even more accurate and a much better vape than the v1.

Without turning this thread into a Y vs. E thread, I personally like the GUI of the yihi better and allowing much more control directly from the mod itself without the need of hooking it up to a PC to change. And while my Boxer DNA133 was my daily driver for the last few months, it has now made it to the shelf.

Honestly, this mod is just perfect. The size is amazing and small. Fits in my hand perfectly and seems to be about the same weight as the v1 dual and DNA133 models... the larger battery in this offsets the 2 smaller 18650s. The temperature control is just flawless. I've used Nickel, Titanium and Stainless and all three work amazingly. Personally, I prefer the power mode and 75W is more than enough, but i've also been splitting between the bypass mode which gives 85W. More than enough for me.

I also like that they now include a black 510 ring and it looks great with the grey unit i have, but also would be a nice accent on all their colors, although I am not sure this is standard for all colors?

I've completed my first cycle and got just over 62,000 joules with the Boxer battery. I am guessing it will be even higher this cycle I am on now as I was testing the unit and used the temp control for a bit and this cycle will be exclusively in power mode.

If I had to address a con, the battery door is really snug. It sits perfectly and there are no gaps, but it is quite tight. Some may prefer this as there is no way the door will ever come off by accident, it does make the swapping of batteries a little more difficult. Im guessing though it will loosen up at tad after a few removals.

Sorry to say this but the Yihi SX350J V2 is not the answer to the DNA 200. There is supposed to be an announcement this month from Yihi that is supposed to be there true DNA 200 answer. We shall see. Well actually I am not sorry to say that because I have a DNA 200 and 2 SX ML and I feel my ML is better then my DNA devices.

True DNA200 answer or not, many of us will be happy with it. I don't want to program or adjust TCR curves or any of that advanced stuff. I wanted small(ish) form factor, extended battery life, TC, and ability to go up to 75w, so it fits the bill perfectly for me. Different strokes for different folks.

A 200w device using the new "450" chip was apparently announced on Yihi's facebook. Two batteries though, so it can't do 200w safely. I just read it on another thread here so I don't know anything more.

Nevermind, I ordered 2 boxer brand 26650s. Not bad for the price...I just wanted some batteries here before the mods get here and I had no idea when they would ship. My goto brands for 18650s (lg/samsumg/sony) don't seem to have 26650 options in the marketplaces I frequent, so I'll play it safe with the Boxers for now.

BTW I think it's common knowledge that the Boxer Mini is not the Yihi 'answer' to the DNA 200. Ginger Vaper uses both chips for a reason. It's been known since the SX Mini ML came out (as well as the prototype boxer mini) that the max output of the 350J v2 chip is 75W.

Yihi has stated that there would be a 200W answer coming soon (which is apparently the 'Q' model with the new 450 chip), but I don't believe GV ever suggested that the 450 chip would be in the Boxer mini. Based on what I've seen so far, the 450 chip requires a dual 18650 configuration (which raises other questions, safety amongst them) whereas the Boxer mini utilizes a single 26650.

I have 3 DNA 200 Boxers...all Lipo and I love them! I'm not interested in the Boxer mini with the yihi 350 v2 chip as an alternative to the DNA 200. I'm interested in the small form factor and 26650 battery for my pocket friendly travel rigs so my DNA 200s can stay at home.

If the device fills your needs/desires that is all that matters. Different strokes for different folks..... :vapor:

Hey all. I am
Considering this as an addition to my dual 18650 v1. I love the boxer line. They look awesome And they're so light.

Is this the smallest boxer made? I'd love to See them expand the lineup with maybe some
Chips that aren't too Of the line but allow for much smaller boxes. Maybe a couple
Kits using the lower end Yihi chips for $50 diy $75 built. Not sure if it's cost effective for them To sell Or make something Like that.

A bit off topic but endulge me
----//

I wanted to discuss ginger vaper for a second for anyone considering them as a provider for the boxer kit.

I bought my boxer kit while my arm was half paralyzed. As a result My build wasn't clean. Nothing was grounding or wrong that I saw but it was certainly ugly. The unit worked great for a fair bit but After a while I noticed a pop and my unit powered on but wouldn't charge out to the 510. I felt it was likely due to my install (able
Bodied people Should be able to Build these easily but one armed takes a bit of effort). Anyway I was pretty gutted. Also with all the surgeries and medical bills racking up a bill wasn't an exciting prospect. So I contacted ginger knowing I had no real warranty to see if they would look at it. They suggested I send it in to them. Problem was I couldn't and still can't drive. So they went a step Further and sent me a prepaid label as I was barely walking at this point .

So I assumed I'd pay them to replace he chip and what not. Anyway. It was sent in on their dime. They examined , fixed and returned it to me within a week. With good solder points where previously they're were bad. They did not charge me for the repair. And they sent some Samples of their eliquid line on the way.

They honestly did everything it was possible to do to work this or for me, on their dime , to support a customer. Certainly my back to back to back surgeries aren't their problem and I chose to try and build the kit. Despite all of that and how easy it would have been to blame my install (because it was somewhat sloppy even if it didn't cause the issue it could have been blamed) they stood by me and gave me not just real help with it. Way more.

Not charging a repair fee or blaming me is one thing. They didn't make a note or at any time day "hey we are doing you a huge favor" they just got on with providing amazing support even though the situation didn't call for it. They could have at least charged me the chip cost for he repair. That probably would have led me to buy a new DNA 200 or Yihi v2 from them since it would have been half the cost. They didn't.

They've certainly earned my business here on. They're not just pleasant to talk to but genuinely kind people there and I very much appreciate what they did. Obviously I'm telling you all this because I feel I should. At no point did they offer to trade s repair for a good fm review on forums or anything.

I plan on adding another boxer to my collection. Clearly bought there. I just have to figure out which one. They can build it this time for me as I'm still recovering ;)

Sorry for the long post -I'll go catch up on the topic and see if I can find out which the smallest boxer is now.

I really haven't been a big DNA 200 fan. I love the software features and I understand why it's supposed to be the "most accurate" but I find that chip gives me fried with almost every atomizer I own compared to the Yihi chips. Even the less expensive Yihi chips. Honestly nobody I know is Using anywhere near max power for temp
Control - most need 30 watts up front and 2-5 after. So personally I hope they focus more on small than on matching power that 1/10 (if that) people Use.

Maybe I don't have a good sample rate. Possible. But even drippers I know don't use anywhere near 200watts in temp Control

Just got my yihi boxer minis today along with 4 boxer 26650 batteries.

The batteries are huge! I was worried I wouldn't be able to charge them in my nitecore i4 but luckily I checked the back and it is rated to charge 26650s, can only fit 2 instead of 4 into the charger at a time due to the size though.

I also got a little concerned when I popped the atomizer on & got a low resistance error. Thankfully I read the manual & remembered TC only works in joule mode on the yihis. Switched & everything was golden.

I have to say this confirms why I still tend to prefer yihi chips in most scenarios, it's just far less finicky with atomizer connections. I had to buy some aromamizers for my DNA 200s, because my sub tank minis kept getting kicked out of TC mode due to fluctuating resistance, poor 510, etc. so far the yihi is firing everything like a champ! I also like the range of adjustments on the mod without having to hook it up to the PC. Just a much more livable device. They both have a place in the vaping stable but the mini's are front & center at the moment.

The DNA200 chip only provides 66.7W per 3.7v cell and the SX350J-v2 provides 75W. I don't believe the claims of the upcoming SX450 being 100w as it just can't be done per cell.

Perhaps Evolv will release an update to increase the wattage, but coupled with the new QXi software & on device controls, I still feel this setup hands down surpasses that of the DNA.

I will add that I've been chain vaping @ 32 Joules for almost 24 hours and I haven't even made a dent in the battery indicator for the 26650. Still reads almost a full charge. Unbelievable!!!

I've been experiencing the same. Been getting around 70K joules per charge in power mode which for me is a couple of days usage. Don't know what they use as their battery but compared to the new ML class (the same price) and it only lasting a few hours per charge, I'm quite happy I went this route over yihis mod.

Just got it today, loving it so far. BUT one big negative and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this: my fire button is very, very difficult to push, I have to make a concerted effort to keep pushing or else it seems to spring my thumb off of it. I know this sounds crazy but has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it gets "looser" with use but if not I might have to send it back...

So after my flirtation with the beta version, mine has just shipped so should have in a couple of days! No access to the GV 26650 so have a purple efest to kick off with. I might try the AWTs (the '75A' versions) I stupidly snagged before reading the book of @Mooch just to see how bad they really are. My search for a really good 26650 in UK/Eur continues!

Hey all. Where do we find the single values for custom temp control? I've not had occasion to input any previously and while I'm familiar with making the csv files for DNA 200 profiling I can't say I have any clue which one value I should be using for a given wire type.

Let's say I want to
Compare a custom entry with the existing for 316l - where do I find that number for 316L ? Is it On steam Engine and I just don't know which to use?

Thanks!

@TheotherSteveS you. Buy. Everything. I. Want.

I found this

TCR value of Ni200 T1 and SS (stainless steel) wire - Vaping G33K

Based on the tests I just ran on my boxer and how perfectly the build I have vapes on the evic mini which Jody.roche+applestore@gmail.com a profile for 304 it looks like the 2 lb spool I bought on eBay is 304 not 316 as sold and marketed.

It's fine with me
It works well it's just mislabeled. For $18 fkr 2500 ft I can handle Food grade not Medical

I actually experience this exact thing on my ML Class. "Spring" my thumb/finger back is the perfect description, it was really strange at first because I've never experienced that with any other mod, including the M Class. I'm hoping mine will loosen up too.

It breaks in, my wife's was the same. Just muck around in the menu setting a bit & it will be right as rain in no time!

which 26650s have people tried in this so far beyond the GV's?? How is the fit for length in particular. This is an issue that has come up on the Vape Forward Stout thread which only seems to take batts around 65mm. This is a pain since there are only one or two brands that are actually the correct length!

In torn. I want to support ginger but I already have a Yihi m class arriving and a boxer dual 18650
And the new dicodes no6 and the other are coming out - which leaves me a choice. I love the boxer mods but I also love the look of those. In curious how their chip stacks up especially as they are releasing s modders board and the pricing is the same roughly.

@TheotherSteveS which brands work. Do 26650 fit in the nitecore d2? I believe so. I'm considering getting that six bay Bluetooth enabled charger from Efest and need to check that too. Anyone have one of those and do the 26650 fit in there ? Two bags is getting arduous with
6x14500
12x1865@
2x18500
6x18350

And more mods arriving.

I need to
See a side by side of the battery size.

Can the boxer be modified by bending pins back a little for more length or is it a width issues?

How is the new Yihi chip vs v1? Manual tcr is working terribly for
Me giving me massive rattlesnake syndrome no matter what i try on the first boxer - which doesn't seem to have a stainless preset built in ?

Thanks all
