so ive just recently started building my own drip coils (recently being past 4 months or so) and im starting to finally catch on and think ive found my style of build i prefer. i have recently been using sn aeolus rda with top airflow which i found i really enjoy. but ive switched to my freakshow just to switch it up a bit and ive found with my thick oil - lions oil i tend to taste more of the tobacco flavours in the juice rather than the vanilla which taste stronger in the aeolus.. anyone else have experiences like these or any opinions?.. btw i built dula coil 26 g kanthal at 2.5 mm 6 wraps normally comes out 0.45... any advice on a better build for flavour would also be appreciated... just a young vape entheusiast trying to expand my knowledge

It all comes down to personal preference on this one. What could be the best setup for someone, won't be the best build for you.

I suggest trying out different coil builds, different gauge wires, dual coil, single coil, twisted, clapton, anything, and see what suits you most.

As for tasting the different flavours, I experience the same thing in a couple RDA's. One RDA is particularly good in bringing out a flavour of one juice and the others are good in bringing out other flavours in other juices.

I hope this info helped you.

Cheers.

awesome man thabks for the tips... im fairly new and dont know the benefits of different gauge wires.. like i kno thinner obviously heats uo faster so would a thicker gauge kanthol be more ideal for flavour building? also ive been looking for a good single coil rda clone and dont seem to be having any luck... the best one ive come across is the xpure... any orher suggestions?

The benefit of thicker gauge is more surface area. Coils with more surface area can heat up more liquid. That's why Clapton coils generally produce better flavour compared to normal microcoils. They produce more vapor too, but need more power to heat up faster.

As for a single coil rda; I've used the atomic rda as my first rda. Single coils at 1.0-1.2 ohm with 28awg wire was a good vape back then. Haven't had any other single coil drippers after that.

no, you need much higher guage to wrap around. I often do fused claptons was parallel strands of 22g nichrome, wrapped with 34g kanthal. The wiring you are using to wrap should have much higher resistance than the core wires. The wrapping wire is not meant to function electrically. It just heats up due to the core wires and acts as a wick.

thanks man i just picked up a velocity today i like the way the posts and post holes are its very spacious and a deep well also im very impress and excoted to get building on this
for some reason it wont allpw me to upload a photo of my deck but i did a double twisted 26 g kanthol coil 6 wraps in my velocity mini rda and just wow... the flavour is amazing... beautoful clouds and im not wasting much juice... i only have the airhole slits open about a millimeter but this is by far one of my favorite rdas ive had to build on... i love the space and the posts.. the space is alot like my dark horse only much better wicking area and it doesnt leak at all... im very hapoy woth this rda thanks for the suggestion bro

Try the new atty from Flightshop it is called the Minicat RDA
Great for flavor

There is something to say about the physical design of the RDA, but most flavor or clouds will be determined by coil, wick, and inhalation technique.
so normslly when i wick i make them about 1/2 inch longer on either side snd then twist them with tweezers so i csn get them under the coils but still leave a little space in the middle drip spot on my velocity .. any pointers

That's the first minicat reference I've seen. How do you like it? I've been watching it since it came out, it's kind of like a tugboat and an old Kennedy had a kid. At $40 I've been interested in it.
As for a flavor atty, it doesn't get much better than a Hobo v3.1. Two post set up with a positive post that you can rotate around the deck to accommodate any build, and the flavor is incredible off of it. The customer service is second to none with Hobo Customs as well, I recently broke my center pin in half (I'm clumsy sometimes) so I DM'ed Hoberto on Instagram, he told me to email the pic I sent him with my address. I get a return email saying that a a replacement was shipped same day. This was only 2 days ago, but he handles CS better than any other manufacturer I've dealt with. Hobo 3.1 is a top notch atty.

as you can see the insulators are still perfect and well machined, my dumb *** just tightened too much while cleaning the atty. The two tone on the pin is gold plated copper.
