MudFlap, the manufacturer of the Indulgence V3 states clearly to use only Proteceted cells (?) Is it ok to use others (Non Protected)then?

Again I'm a Newbie and just trying to find my Sweet Spot on the vape ;-)

ALWAYS use protected Lithium Ion batts...the batts mudflap referred to are not LI batts and are what is known as "safe chemistry" batts and do not have or need the protection circuits LI batts need...........

We usually use the term Li-Ion when referring to LiCo batteries, which should never be used in a pv without a protection circuit. That is actually kind of sloppy because what we really mean is NOT Li-Ion (a general term), but LiCo. OTOH, Li-FePo4 and Li-Mn (IMR) batteries are "safe chemistry" batteries.

If you are really interested in the different terminology, this is a good post from CPF: What exactly does "IMR" mean?

MadJack - This may seem a "Stupid" question, but are Safe Chem and Protected batteries interchangable? Does it matter which is used as far as proformance of the device?

Click on the link provided my mlinky in the post below. There are several useful links at the bottom of that post. Yeah, it's a lot of information to absorb, but it will tell you everything you need to know about choosing the appropriate batteries and chargers for your desired application.

My original post in this thread were product suggestions for 6 volt vaping. Your questions aren't stupid, they just don't have short easy answers.

Actually, the batteries matter more than the device as far as performance with different atomizers and cartomizers. If you are interested, read this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html
