attempt one stapled staggered fused clapton

for the stapled staggered fused clapton i take 8" of 26g nichrome & 2 lengths of 32g nichrome(each 36" long) straighten all the wire's seperatly by spinning in the drill,
then i wrap my two lengths of 32g onto the 26g in parallel, then use a ruler to pull one of the two strands from the 26g as in the pic..

the loose end poking through the hole in the ruler gets pulled with pliers and takes seconds to strip & before the very last of the 32g comes off the 26g i give it some tension by stopping the claptoned wire spinning with my finger to straighten it out so i can use it for joining the two halves of 26g back together.


cut 5x 4" of ribbon and stack them in your fingers as best you can then spit on them lol this will help stick them together but best to keep the saliva towards the middle of the ribbons so you can tape one end of the ribbons together.
then i grab my two clapton pieces and put them either side of the ribbon's & start to wrap it all up together by hand starting at the end without tape, it doesnt take long to wrap up such short pieces.
instead of wrapping from the end towards the middle i will come in about 10-15mm and twist towards the closer end and once done i will spin the wires around and finish off wrapping towards the furthest end.

ill have to look into trying this, so you just hand unspool it through the ruler, instead of a drill?

yep just pull with pliers and then instead of discarding the wire you peeled off you can reuse it to join the two halves back togethder as it will be almost a perfect length

Let me know how it is, I'm considering picking one up, I was going to build an sx350j box but at the IPV3 Li's price point, it's just so much cheaper to buy that mod instead, plus it has the touch fire button and can be upgraded to 200w, not that I would ever go that high, I barely go past 80w on my Sig100
