Likely that is the cause of the poor performance. Think of your battery like the engine of a vehicle, it needs to provide sufficient horsepower that is properly matched to the vehicles size and weight.
Your EVOD battery will be one of two types. If the very bottom of the battery has an adjustable base turn it all the way clock wise to increase its voltage. If the battery base is fixed then you are stuck with it's designed output.
I would suggest that you invest $30 to $40 for an Eleaf Istick. Any of that model, the 20, 30 or 50 Watt will provide sufficient power ranges to drive your et-s tank.
Good luck

There is quite a bit to learn depending on your reasons for vaping.
When I started seven years ago all I wanted to do was to quit smoking. I'm happy to say that I was successful. I still vape but not nearly as much as when I was fighting the habit and these days at zero nic levels.
Find a vape shop that you feel comfortable walking into. Tell the folks in the shop of your vaping goals and ask them for their 'simplest' recommendations. If they are unable to communicate and partner with you properly in fulfilling those goals find a shop that can.
Your et-s tank is just fine for a new person. An Istick battery and charger and juice with the proper nic levels to satisfy your cravings are all you really need.
Feel free to send me a note on this forum I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

I'd suggest getting a mod (battery) like the iStick of at least 30 watts. It will allow you room to grow into different tanks like the Subtanks if you desire to go there. I really like the Nautilus Mini tank on an iStick or other 30 watt device. You might pay 5 bucks more for a 30 over a 20 watt device but it's worth it.

You really don't need to know a lot about ohms law in the beginning. The same rule applies to EVERY vape device you'll own. Start on low power and take a draw. Bump the power up a notch, take another draw. Repeate as necessary. If it gets to warm or starts to taste burnt, back it down. With the Aspire ET-S you want to start low, 5 or 6 watts to start, and use the method I described. You will also need a 510 to eGo adapter ($5) with any mod you purchase unless it comes with one (as some do).

I used a similar tank/battery setup to quit the cigs, but the mod and Nautilus were the guarantee to me I was going to win the battle. The quality of vape with just a little better gear is amazing.

I just got an aspire et-s BDC tank and today was my first day using it. It was horrible. It gurgles and spits back like crazy. What am I doing wrong? I've taken it apart, wiped everything out and it still happens. Is this just a problem with this tank? I'm very new to this.

I have 2 of these and I love them. I use them as my daily vape at work on my sub box mini at 10-12 watts. There are a few tricks to this tank.

First don't let the tank go much passed halfway on the window. At that point you have less than 1ml left. When this happens the vacuum gets all wonky and causes gurgling.

A good trick is to gently blow into the tank. Not full on but gently consistently for 5 seconds. Do this a few times throughout usage. This will help the vacuum.

When i have a bit of gurgling I also hit the button on my mod and wait two seconds before I take a drag. This helps burn off any extra flooded liquid in the coil.

You need to hit this tank with as many watts/volts as possible, my knock off ego battery isn't enough power, this causes flooding and gurgling because your not able to vaporize all the liquid.

When u have gurgling just roll up a napkin or paper towell in a thin spike and carefully shove it down the drip tip as far as you can and spin. This will pick up and extra condensation or juice that may cause gurgling.

You can also unscrew the tank and blow hard into it for about 10 seconds. This will let all the juice that is causing your gurgle come out of the bottom. I use this as a last resort.

I'd recommend getting the 1.8 ohm bvc verticle coil. 1.6 has tiny wick holes. The wick holes are huge and you can chain vape without dry hits. I've just recently started building my own verticle coils with organic cotton and I can vape 100% VG at 15 watts and the vapor production is amazing.

These are great tanks. I had lots of sub ohm tanks, RBAs, RTAs etc and this is my favorite. You will enjoy this thing very much if you keep all the things I posted in mind.

If you have any more questions let me know. I've been using these tanks for 4 months and most days I don't get a single gurgle all the way til the tank is empty using the methods I have mentioned. As other people have mentioned its recommend you use a more powerful device to get the full enjoyment out of it.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any more questions.

Happy vaping!:smokie:

The Et-s is my favorite non sub ohm tank. I started out with one on a cheap ijoy twist battery and it took me no time to get over cigarettes. I wound up drilling the air holes out and adding a couple extra. My current et-s has 4 huge air holes and the top swapped from a vivi nova so i could change drip tips. The extra airflow lets me run it above 10 watts with higher vg juice without gurgling or dry hits. I wish i could find a place that sells them in bulk.

EBay about 2 weeks ago had them for $3.95. I picked up an extra. It has two stock holes, are you saying u drilled 2 extra? I've been building the bvc with mixed results, less vapor than stock but handles higher watts with high VG juice. I love the ets because I can drop them at work in gravel and not brake them, not to mention they are an above average vape. I have a Nautilus mini and was disappointed that it wasn't better than the ets. This is just my opinion.

Thanks so much. My battery is fixed so I will look in to what you recommended. I wish some vape shop employees could give more info on this stuff, its hard to know what questions to ask when you don't really know what you should be asking. I'm amazed at all the vaping stuff out there. It's alot to learn!

the evod clearomizers that go with your EVOD battery work great, and are pretty cheap....and also look really nice on that batt......you might want to consider getting a few so you can still enjoy the battery your purchased already!

I just dug the two of these I have out the other day. It's been a long time since I've used them because I was having all the problems you're having. Even with higher power they didn't work. But aspire has recently switched to cotton for all their coils, do you know if the ones you have are cotton or not? I'm not even sure it says on the box or not. Anyways, I got sent home from my local shop with a free 30ml bottle of juice that he was sampling but has decided not to sell, so I got it plus the little K1 tank he uses for samplers. I got it home and noticed it had the new cotton coil in there. So I swapped it over to my et-s and it's working amazing at even lower wattages like 9w.

Yes, I drilled out the stock holes and added two extra holes for a total of 4. I can't remember what size bit I used, but I can do lung hits of high nic if I get brave or really need a fix.
