All good things come to an end sometime.

Your ideas, support and communication helped make the project what it was. We are closing the project for two reasons: the first and most important is that we are tired; the second reason is that we do not see decent devices on the market that we would like to use ourselves. Thank you for being with us.
    — NFE Team

They were a dedicated group that made JWEI products and others much more enjoyable to use for many.

    It is sad news.
Their program for eleaf mods was amazingly good.
But it's understandable that they shut down, not many mods exist where they could do the magic with, too bad an era is going down.

I'm thinking that it wouldn't hurt to post this here.
At least for now, the Internet Archive has preserved some captures of their website and at least some of the NFE Tools and ArcticFox files can still be downloaded.

Here is a link to another thread that I replied to that has a screenshot of the files that I downloaded as well as a link to the archived site,

Here is the same link to the archived site for folks in a hurry,

    :)

In case anyone needs the AF manual, the link is still up at Google Docs.

also attached the manual in PDF format

    Thanks mate.
I had NFE program but the manual I lacked.

Pity the wayback machine wouldn't open this post from April '22, but I already c&p'd it long ago.

Question: I'm looking for a best mod/mods for TCR with AF as on DNA60/75 and etc. In short, what mod with Arctic Fox firmware is able to work with TCR as well as DNA?

    MAELSTROM (AF CREATOR/DEVELOPER ANSWERED)

No one, the ideology of TC is different.
DNA can provide precise temperature of the coil (within reason, of course). The OEM and our firmware goal is the dry heat protection.
... we have never positioned our firmware as an alternative or competitor to Evolv ... We don't compete with the best, we make the best of the worst
... usually beginners demand the almost impossible from their coils, and here we are definitely inferior to the Evolv.

Actually just about any/all of devices that can run Articfox can use TFR profiles (if there is one available for your wire type - check Steam Engine) and may be close/similar experience as using a DNA chipped mod.

However, that also includes the rather silly (and at times NASTY) habit of randomly switching profiles because the resistance of the coil has changed.

Hence one of the major reasons that my Dicodes and YiHi devices are almost always in use and devices with Articfox firmware often make it into the rotation while the three DNA devices I have generally collect dust in a box/drawer/shelf somewhere.

Note: a quick work-a-round for Articfox devices is to have only ONE profile on the device. :)

    YMMV.

No DNA device will ever do this. If the mod does not detect a change in resistance it will turn TC off and default to the watts the user set.

Actually they will ALWAYS do this.

Even when resistance is 'locked' they will constantly ask if it is a 'new coil' or not, depending on the observed cold resistance.

If multiple profiles are installed with similar (close) resistances, these mods can assume that you 'switched atomizers' or coils and use a different profile.

The 'fix' for Articfox is to have only one profile which matches the wire type your using. (easy enough with software tools)

You are clearly mistaking a really dumb AF feature for the behavior of a DNA mod.

OUTRAGEOUSLY WRONG WRONG WRONG. They have a decicated 'Help Desk' and forum, have you asked there. Either of them, they'll set you straight.

I have seen it happen many times on mods flashed with Arctic Fox.
But you can turn that feature off in AF.

Even that was wrong, but I won't give you the real answer. Go RTFM.

    The simple solutions were to...

    - I gave up on DNA mods many (>5) years ago

    - While the ability to have 'TFR' accuracy might seem like a 'killer' or 'must have' feature the truth is that many devices STOCK OEM firmware provided (or more accurately COULD provide) a decent vaping experience out of the box.

The limiting factor is generally related to attempting to temperature regulate low TCR value wire while using chip sets that lack the required resolution & accuracy needed to accomplish it.

The same chip sets can provide a decent or 'good enough' experience with TCR values >= 300.
