when i switched from cigs to mtl vaping i thought i would be using it the same way as a cig.... 20-25 puffs then set it down.....repeat after an hour or so...and so on.

But this thing is glued to my hand now....i use it for long stretches.....on 12 mg and 70 vg....no adverse reactions....but im wondering if i need to break this chain valing pattern and what might be the best way to go about it.

Double your nicotine strength.

You must simply make a conscious effort to set it down and leave it there. If it's in your hand, like it is mine, it just gets vaped continually.

If you'd like to cut back raise nic a bit as suggested, don't take it with you when you duck outta the house for a while, don't vape in the house go outside etc.

If you really want to back off a bit there are a few strategies you can use. Use 1 or a combo of them to cut back some.
As long as you don't go back to smokes over it, cut back however you like. But it will need to be out of your hand at times to do it. imo. Cheers.

Cigarette smoke is an almost instant hit. Vapor takes longer to enter your system. (different particle sizes). If you smoked a pack-a-day, you had 20 highs and 20 lows throughout the day. With vaping it's more of an even keel.

If you want to cut down, try to puff less constantly or cut back on nic level. But IMO, treating vaping like smoking is not the best way to go.

Strategy for cutting down on chain vaping:
Put the MOD DOWN!

LOL! When I was attempting to quit smoking I had to put the cigarettes away from my reach as with them being close to my hand made one go in my mouth! Yes this is said with levity but it is a serious suggestion.

As you can see OP. we each have our own ideas.
You'll need only a little trial and error to find what will work for You.

And as to the "do not treat it like smoking"
It is a LOT like smoking in many ways, it is why it's so effective as a tool to stop.
There will obviously be different ways we can minimize how much we vape over time. It will involve distancing ourselves from the vape at times. How one chooses to do that is up to them. If one must stigmatize oneself a little to accomplish this, (as has been done to smokers over the years) so be it.

Realize please all the above is just talk, I've not personally cut back on the vape one bit since starting almost 5 years ago.
And my guess is the same can be said for many of the posters in this thread. Could be wrong there though, wouldn't be the first time. haha. Good Luck!

Increase your nic strength. It's the only way to go that doesn't require any effort on your part. It'll save you money too.

You're fine, stop worrying about it. You will know if you are getting too much nic. Light headed, jittery, queasy stomach. If that happens then back off for a while.

Vaping isn't the same as smoking. We don't vape the same way as we smoked. If you're concerned then get some nic in a lower level then your using and switch between the two.

You don't say what you are vaping on. Sadly :) it may be time to get some new gear. A cloudy rebuildable of some sort. Something that produces more vapor. I chain vaped until I got an rda. 5 or 6 draws of 6mg and I am good.

As long as you aren't smoking (or smoking less) just go with it. I Vape much less than I did two years ago. But it is much more efficient. I can go 4 hours at work without the urge to Vape. And not be ...... about it either.

I find that Vaping doesn't have the feeling of completion like smoking a cigarette, once that cigarettes out it done, sure you could light up another, but that's not common.

The taste of the cigarette has something to do with that as well.

I'd say your choices are:
  1. don't worry about it and enjoy
  2. up your nicotine level and try not to get used to the higher content and start chain vaping that
  3. self control (but who wants that :()
2.5: try your 12mg in an RDA and realize you made a poor decision and enjoy the headrush

I wouldn't/didn't/don't worry about chain-vaping Nic. I would increase the Nic to 18 and sit the mod down just out of sight. Might be weird at first, but your body will tell you when you need Nic. But, it is obvious that your Nic is under-strength.

Just let your body tell you when.

When I quit smoking I didnt use a juice that contained nic. But I was vaping constantly. I still am. But since I dont use nic I feel its not a problem

as they say..."two eaches own"

Don't hate on the nic...
Hate on the flavour.
If we are talking potential harm...Nic is not the source. IMO

I think you need more nicotine content.

I use 6, 18 and 24mg setups. On the higher mg ones I'll count the puffs to 10 and stop there and put the mod down.

I'll run the weak (6mg) juice in my high/large vapor output devices. Usually 2-4 cloud pulls is enough for 15-30min until I take the next handful or so of pulls.

As others have mentioned, it may be time for you to upgrade to a higher output device/setup.

What are you vaping and at how many watts?

Go for more TH. One way is to increase nic but Ideally this would be a flavor that provides a punch and chain vaping it too much would make you cough. I vape hangsen arabic tobacco diy becuse it hits hard. What works for you is in the air, a menthol may be for you, never vaped it.. Something to give your throat a hit to help satisfaction.

Choosing a more rough nic can make a big difference at the same %. Many of the new nics are way too clean and have very little TH. We've discussed this at nauseum in the nicotine comparison thread. (After the op go towards the end for current info) Nic select is one of the harshest, high th nics right now, good prices from ECX.

One could say if you have to chain vape regardless of the mg and cant stop, reduce your nic. Especially if you have trouble sleeping. Nic does gave an effect on the body when used in excess.

Will Power to put it down is key.
