Here is how it works:

I would like the experienced user on this forum to build a full affordable starter kit for the new vapers.

The kit will need to have the juices and necessary hardware (battery and chargers etc) to be complete. Indicate how much the whole kit will cost at the end of your post. And please post your kit in one single post.

Please avoid jargon and techno blable as much as possible.

Link every bits and pieces clearly to your favorite suppliers. Ex: If your kit includes an Evod, the link should direct you to the Evod itself on the suppliers page, not the suppliers main page.

Suppliers are not welcome on this thread so If you link only to one single supplier it will look suspicious. Please avoid that.

So here we go!

A blister pack with a 650 milliamp/Hour battery, clear tank atomizer with replaceable coil head and USB charger for $14.95. Add a sample pack of five 3ml bottles of liquid for $10.99. Add $2.50 for shipping and it's yours in 2-3 days for under $30.00.

Edit to add: Compare that to the price of a single carton of premium analog cigarettes sold in the U.S.

Ok! so.....

This thread didn't work what so ever so I decided to, at least, give my two cents as to what a good starter kit would look like.
(Just in case any new ppl would miraculously stumble upon this tread)

Get an Evod Kit (resembles a eGo kit but is sexier) If not available you can find it here for a little more $$$. Easy and straightforward to use. Just charge your batteries, refill your tank and vape it. You don't need to bother about variable voltage, wattage, Ohms, resistance etc... A good and solid plug and play starter kit. (If you think that your vape is not strong enough, try to buy some lower resistance heads 2.2, 1.8 or 1.5 Ohm that can be found here. On this kit, The lower the Ohms the stronger the vape)

No kit is a complete kit without good E-juice. These juices are what you actually "smoke", or more adequately; "Vape".

Some of my favorite picks can be found here, here and here. If you are a heavy smoker (1 pack and up a day), I would recommend you to start with 24mg or 18mg of nicotine juices, If you are a regular smoker (a pack to less then a pack a day) go with either 16 or 12mg of nicotine.... For the light to super light smokers, anything from 12mg to 6mg should suit you. If you can get down to zero mg... More power to you!

Buy More Than One Flavor!!!!!!!!! Flavors will make or break your vaping experience so buy at least 4 or 5 flavors than sounds good to you.

You will notice that on a lot of e-liquid web sites, they will ask you to choose a PG/VG ration, or percentage. Just know that the rule of thumb is that PG is considered to deliver more throat hit and flavor whereas VG is considered to give you more vapor production I recommend you to start with some 70PG/30VG as most smokers seek a good throat hit (the feeling that a cigarette gives you when inhaled). This may vary depending on the vendor)

Don't forget to charge your batteries! If you always run out of batteries buy some more, or buy a higher "mAh" rated battery. The higher the mAh the longer your battery life (and the bigger your device)! (Any eGo style batteries will fit this kit)

So here it is... It should cost you about 80$ depending on how much juice you buy.

Take care!

And welcome to the wonderful world of Vaping!

I think it is asinine trying to tell Noobs what they need.
While recommendations are good, it is always best to get some feel for the user first.

As for recommending E-liquids - I have over 50 DIFFERENT liquids from 2 dozen venders from Recommendations, that I DISLIKE OR HATE!
I prefer recommending sites that offer Small samples at a Good price so people are not stuck with hundreds of ml of juice the don't care for , like me.:glare:
Its easy to vape away 3-5ml of Yuck - not so easy with 10-30ml of used toilet water.

This remains my favorite beginner kit. Juice is not included, nor should it be. Juice wrangling is VERY individual. http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

I love this as a starter. You get to try a top and bottom coil. Reasonable price. In a perfect world, I would like to add one joye 510 mini and a pack of cartos for around $20. The true noob (from my own experience) want their very first ecig to be a cigalike. The starter you posted pluse a cigalike would cover all bases for about the cost of a carton of cigarettes.

Ive had a few new vapers go with this kit, comes with juice of your choice so theres nothing else youd need to buy. Is not the cheapest out there but its quality/legit and im confident in how well the standard Evod with 650 works as after almost a year i still use one in conjunction with my various mods. Also Wordups juice is unmatched in quality from anything else ive ever tried, and i know for a new person something as simple as a cheap device or poor vapor or unsatisfying liquid can make the whole process of switching frustrating

Most noobs on ECF are asking questions because they are looking for direction from more experienced vapors. I totally agree, and in fact thought it was a given to get a feel for the noobs lifestyle and personality before making any recommendations. On another thread we were discussing how confusing it is for noobs (we've all been there) when they read threads on ECF. One conclusion was to NOT use abbreviations or ecig lingo when answering noob questions. Another topic was, instead of getting 50 different answers (from those who may or may not know what they are talking about), are there a few types of starter kits we could all agree would be the least intimidating and most "user friendly" kits to introduce the noob to the world of vaping.

You're right, I don't think folks should jump in and name drop all their favorite juices. Instead, recommend variety sample packs. Most likely, if a noob is left to flounder on their own, they will pick many juices they don't like anyway... ;-) I would tend to recommend venders that have been vetted for quality rather than specific juice flavors.

I can't remember what it was called now, but in another thread (can't remember which one grr) somebody posted a pic of what I wanted as a newbie... a cigalike mod. Looks like the size of a camel wide and you can pop the end cap off and replace the battery. Anybody else come across this and know what it is? If I can find it I want to get one for my dad and get him off cigars

Maybe I am just old fashioned but my advice being a newbie myself is to try and locate a local brick and mortar store so you can hold and try before you buy. My local store is setup so you can sample all their juices for taste before you buy. I almost bought a Vaperonly VV online I thought was a good deal but went to the store first and they had one. Turns out I didn't care for how it felt in my hand or vaped but I did find a Bamboo VV/VW (Vamo) I liked. Now I can go online and find the better deal, but so far the store has a better kit deal and I can personalize it with a tank of my choice and juices I know I will like. Just because a review or other people say the product is great, doesn't mean it will suit your personal tastes. Just my .02 cents.

Suppliers are not allowed to post in the general sections. They are limited to posting in the supplier sections. I figured this out about a week into joining ECF.

No 1 thread has ever been able to come up with THE perfect beginner kit. There are way too many variables. Not to mention how many different types of devices there are available to us now. What works great for some, works like crap for others. Then, like others have said, e-liquid is another nightmare to find what works for our individual tastes.

For someone looking for about a $200 budget (this is minus juice). This also has options for spending much less.

Here is the provari that I was talking about. $159.95
ProVari Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!

They also have a mini version, the mini version wont last as long (the battery is smaller, but it is a lot smaller than mine. They sell the batteries on site. Both the mini and the normal one are the same price. Make sure you get the right batteries.

If you don't mind spending the money on an expensive charger you dont have to worry about over charging the batteries with (kills batteries faster) then you can get:
Pila IBC Lithium Charger (CC/CV) - Chargers - Battery... - OVEREADY Flashlights/Torches - Control The Dark
I have this one and Im glad I got it cause I've been using it regularly every day for over 2 years. This site is safe I've used it plenty of times for batteries. The battery prices here are cheaper than the provari website.

Here's a cheaper one that works almost as well, but you have to remove the batteries when the light turns green
WF-139 Lithium Charger (CC only) - Chargers - Battery... - OVEREADY Flashlights/Torches - Control The Dark

This is called a gripper, its cheap, but it works very well. The only problems I've found ( we have bought 4 because my wife likes them so much, but keeps breaking them...) is that the button stops working consistently after a while and if you drop it the battery door wont stay closed... Im actually in the process (when I have time) of rebuilding the four we have with new buttons and cases.
SMOKtech Gripper VV 510 & 808 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Here is a telescoping version of what I have, this means you can use a variety of batteries. Id still get the 18650 (lasts longer) - $80
Sigelei ZMax Telecopic Variable Voltage/Wattage Mod - Stainless

Gotvapes (the store i linked for the gripper) also has a variety of juices, my wife really lieks the pyramid fusion tobacco juice. Juice is very subjective and you will most likely spend a bit of money trying to find a good juice for all day use.
FLüX™ Nectar Premium Tobacco - PYRAMID FUSION 36 ml 70/30 PG/VG [flux-tobPYRAMID-36ml] - $13.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I use three juices primarily.
Bobas bounty is a mixed juice, its almost like a pipe tobacco, its very good.
Alien Visions E-Juice

I also use desert flavors, the best Ive found are snickerdoodle cookie - this store is kind of expensive but i really like it.
Snickerdoodle Cookies
and Banana fosters coffee
Banana Fosters Coffee - Ms T's Bakery Essentials. Have Your Cake and Puff It Too.

Another good store is: Mountain Oak Vapors
Buy Electronic Cigarettes Online, E Cigarette Liquid Refill, E Cig Juice
try their tobaccos and their dark temptations sample packs.
E-Liquid TNO Sample Pack - 100% Made in the USA only at Mountain Oak Vapors

for the attomizer part here are some that Ive found that require little fiddling.
Kanger ProTank
and the replacement heads
Kanger eVod Coil Replacement **5 pack - 2.2 ohms

The store on wilcox carries this stuff as well, its a little more expensive, but with shipping it comes out to be about the same. the store is called vapor geeks. You can also get an ego kit there as well, these are good backups in case your batteries are dead or your mod is broken.

You're gonna spend the most money up front, if you really dont want to go over $200 initially, then Id recommend:
$80 - Telescpong zmax
$52 - Pila charger (overready)
$22 - x2 AW IMR 18650 batteries (overready, the batteries are red, dont skimp on these!)
$20 - sampler of juice from mtn oak vapors, the above link is their tobacco sampler pack
$19 - 2x protank (Discountvapors)
$6 - Replacement heads (its a 5 pack) (Discountvapors)

total=$199 (not including shipping)

The store on wilcox has the replacement heads as well as their own line of juice if you want to go that route.
