#1. I have noticed a trend over the past couple of weeks (at least) that when a new member posts in the "Wants" thread with what may seem like an excessive want that there is a tendency by some veteran members to reply with a smart-alec comment. This is oftentimes followed by several more. I have to ask. If this an appropriate way to initiate someone into a group that has been founded on lending a helping and and having fun? It would not appear so to me. If PIF is to continue to grow and prosper, new members are an integral part of accomplishing that. I am asking that you keep it in mind before putting fingers to keyboard to type that biting comment that is sure to get some laughs among your fellow veterans.


#2. First, welcome to PIF! If you stick around you will find a good group of people willing to help make your vaping experience all you want it to be. However, it may not be the wisest course of action to post a "want" for a $100 mod right out of the gate. Most of the folks here are not wealthy and do not have a limitless supply of mods, juice, etc. They give because they believe in helping their fellow man and to allow you to try items that you haven't had an opportunity to, or to truly help someone in need. No one absolutely "needs" the latest and greatest mod to have an enjoyable vaping experience. Keeping these things in mind will surely get your PIF experience started on the right foot.



To all: Hopefully you will take my advice to heart and give some thought to the posts that you make to enable PIF to be a positive place for all.

I an one of the folks that fall under #2. I can't say enough good things about this forum and the people that make it so great ! It's quite maddening to just try to keep up with the all the posts. I have experienced the kindness and generosity of others in the PIF forum with my request for some sample juices. I Promise to pay the kindness I have received forward as well, though it will take some time before I will have something that I can help others with. Yaaay ECF !!!!

I fall under #2. I have done 2 wants both small-seeking under 3mls of a few different juices to taste before buying. The one want that was granted was 6mls. I kept about 2 and PIF'ed the rest. As a new vaper the want/PIF is awesome and good things should never be taken for granted.

I think that would be a lot nicer than being a sarcastic smart ... and embarrassing or pissing off the newbie.

Exactly. A friendly PM explaining the "ins & outs" would certainly be preferable to being a smartass, I agree.

I'm so glad this was posted! I'm not a total noob but not a vet either.

PIF is suppose to be a fun and helpful place...so I'm glad this reminder was put out there. It not fun when people are being snippy and its not fun when people are asking for the moon and the stars.

PIF is a great group and has a lot to offer but it is nice to remember that we were all new once and made mistakes. Also it is nice to remind the newbie's that we are not Santa Claus with an endless bag of loot to hand out. Thanks for the post.

Please try to keep your want posts down to a reasonable amount.I think its upsetting to the members trying to help when every page is the same people asking over and over.Let some of the newer members get in there and get the help they need.

I need to make an apology. I started the shenanigans the other night with my wise-... PIF add. My add was intended to be a bit of an ironic sort of joke - which was not in the true spirit of the pif thread. I shouldn't have done it and I'm sorry. I take full responsibility for the ensuing chaos as others were just responding to my not so nice prank. I'm sorry for the ensuing free for all and give you my word I will not do anything like that ever again. If you want to ban me from the PIF I understand and probably even deserve it.
Blame me though not anyone else - I started it and the others were just responding in kind.

Thank you Elendil for your post. I am guilty of #1 and I apologize but am happy that the thread was unlocked to allow comment as I would like to comment.

I, too, have been abused......and many other vets. I started vaping a long time ago and have a lot of stuff. I always PMd people with offers before PIF was born. I gladly joined at Clumsygirls invite. I rarely take as I need nothing...I get joy from giving and helping.......
BUT........when noobie A posts he is out of work and no juice and no attys and...well...we all know the same story told......I PM noobie A and send 5 bottles...(not 3 ml.....20 ml)...attys...and an assortment of flavors as requested in the requested nic level and all tobacco. The day after the mail is sent....noobie A is PIFFing an assortment of e-liquids...some even tobaccos. Now noobie A is complaining his mod broke and a benevolent giving piffer offers up a stock battery....no....noobie A needs a mod...stocks don't last long enough......then noobie A asks for a specific atty.....must be LR!!!!

Much like the welfare system and food stamps. I stand in line with my groceries and watch a food stamp user buying porterhouse steaks. I have steak in my cart, but chose the new york strip as they were on sale this week. Tax payer abuse IMO.

I will never illustrate the problem without a suggested solution....Here it is

PIF will send various bits to make a starter kit...perhaps the attys do not match and the batteries are scratched. Pif will send various juice flavors as samples.
Meanwhile noob puts the $7.00 per day in a jar and in a few weeks.....VOILE!
a new Ego kit...mega carts and a good idea of what juice they may like to order.

Great plan.....but IMO...some are abusing the "system" and are using PIF as their supplier.

When I started vaping...(no this is not a when I walked 2 miles to school with no shoes story)...I spent hundreds on juice I did not like and kits that were shoddy. I found ECF...read...all of it I could...including the RULES...and asked questions and found the 510 and 555 were my sweet vape. Moved up after 6 months to a little laser mod made by Cisco........now I have a tidy collection of various mods which I have paid for with my cigarette fund.....and...the best part is ,,,,now hear this good..

THERE IS STILL MONEY IN THE JAR!...I am saving money using a PV....even with all the extras, bells and whistles and with giving to others. I shop for bargains, buy in bulk, find a good sale, plan for the future and SHARE.
