Given the recent activity in regards to venting batteries I have decided to make ALL CHUCK end caps vented from here on in.
My initial testing lead me to believe that should this occur, the chucks would vent at a 90 degree angle from the body around the switch plus some through the threading on each end. I will be doing a thourough examination of the one that went BOOM when I get it back...

However while driving home tonight I decided to vent all the end caps from now on. Whether it is technically "needed" is not the issue. It will not affect performance at all, and I think it will put alot of people's minds at ease. It's only 1 more step in the machining process and I am more than willing to do that.

Anyone who would like to send in their current end caps, feel free to do so and I will machine the vent for free! If you are willing to cover return postage $1... I would greatly appreciate it! Just toss a dollar in with it and I will have it back in the mail the following day, first class mail, padded env.

Send to:

Please include a note with your return address.

Here's what they will look like.

Also, any CHUCKs that are in for warranty work will automatically have the venting done.

Smart move, Jeff. And a very generous offer to add this level of protection at Thagbuilt's expense.

It's no coincidence, nor is it complicated to see why there are nearly 1,000 Chucks in circulation. You guys do the right thing -- that's so key to long term success and furthering the business via customer satisfaction and word of mouth recommendations.

Continued best of luck, bud.

Good move buddy!

Now the question is, would it be safer for me to use non-vented endcaps or try and drill a vent myself.

If any of you ladies decide to get your endcaps drilled... Please follow standard procedures for pr0n as previously discussed, for any questons feel free to contact MastiffMike or myself.

--have a nice day!

Jeff, I gotta say that I admire your integrity. This is how all suppliers who care should act,... but then again you're more of a craftsman, aren't you. Anyway, good on ya.
I'm the guy that e-mailed you about a possible new turn in customizing the skins of the Chuck. You replyed last night and I shot you another e-mail. I need the exact deminsions to work from (diamiter & length) since I don't own one yet.
I know you're probably busier than ever right now so if some other Chucklehead could measure up their Chuck for me that would work. Full size Chuck please.
