I was looking at those the other day, they'd be the perfect size. Only bad thing is they typically take button cells so the process would be very involved. But hey, anything too easy wouldn't be fulfilling. They also make Lightsaber flashlights and laser pointers about the same size...
This video demonstrates the much more expensive Lightsaber flashlights in action very comically. I note these because they take 3xAAA, so they'd be able to house much more in the way of power and features.
