They're going fast. I need to decide what to get for the next batch. A local guy asked me if I'd go in halves on a batch of keets. I know I'd want to keep some. Drats.

Ducks. You need ducks.

I kept 9 Welsh and a few Cayugas. They are SLOBS, but I love them. The Cayugas follow me around the yard. The Welsh are still teeny, they scream and run from me.

Just finished pinioning them. A little swim and then I'll dry them for bed time.

16 made it to lockdown. 14 have hatched. One is pipped and one is doing nothing. They hatched last night.

Today they moved out to the pole building. 15 ducklings in a bathtub is not a good plan.

The duck run got a big improvement! It's a preformed 100 gal. pond, now surrounded by pea gravel. Hopefully this will keep the mud to a minimum:

They are. I'm super happy with not having mud anymore. We'll see how it holds up with all this darn rain. *fingers crossed*

Mrs E is happy we're in a real neighborhood now. No more listening to me ask if we can buy chickens. Against HOA rules. I have a feeling that it might be a good thing. I never do anything easy, or small.

Sooo how many ducks ya keeping? Have 5 SQ Barr rock bantams. Trying to figure out how to keep the roo. Their around 4-5 months old and so small and cute.

Lovin the Muscovy 's super quiet no quack. Not too messy. They don't Sean to slop in the water like other ducks do.
