Quitting smoking with a Provari

Status
Not open for further replies.
I tried quitting smoking about 2 years ago unsuccessfully with a weak ecig.

Money isn't an issue and I want to try a Provari or Provari Mini.

Could someone please help me and tell me what accessories, etc... I should be purchasing with it.

tank, juice, etc...

What should I be considering.

I am a 1 pack a day smoker of Parliament cigarettes.

Thanks in advance.

I would buy the mini for 159.00 at ProVape tomorrow and use the 10% discount code for Cyber Monday. The Coce for tomorrow ........ Provari - Dec. 2nd 10% off order. code= cyber10

Then get some 18350 AW Batteries at Lighthound or RTD Vapor ( I would get 4 and a plastic box to keep them in). Get a decent charger also. Then your set except for your topper. I will let someone else give you their opinion on that one.

I enjoy Quality Carto Tanks....and Kayfun type toppers, but with the latter, you almost need to see someone build it and show you how to do it. Someone will be along shortly to show you all of this.

An I Clear 30 may be a good fit for you right now in the beginning. Then go find a local Store and try their juices until you find what you like.

PS.. If you want to get the most out of your Mini..as in making it a larger, longer lasting form factor, you can either buy the extension to the Mini at Provape that will allow you to use an 18490 or 18500 battery. With this set up, you will be in the "Middle size position" and the ProVari will of course last longer between batteries.
Or you could do Like I did and google the company "Tatroe" and buy two Tatroe extension rings at about 15 bucks each. These will give you the ability to make your Mini the same size as the full size ProVari with the use of two rings, using an 18650 size battery....... or one ring for the 18490/18500 size.

I got the brushed stainless (satin Silver) For a few reasons : It costs less than the other Minis.....It is more "scratch resistant" or shows scratches less.... It looks the best with the Stainless Tatroe rings or Tatroe base (tatroe base I dont harly use anymore)

I hope this helps some.

PSS.. Just a suggestion... Since you are a current smoker..the juice will be VERY important for you quitting. I would highly suggest a juice called "7 Leaves" from a place called Freedomsmokesusa. I have successfull gotten a handfull of smokers off the cigs with this juice. Noit many new "quitters" like fruits and deserst and the like.. I make my own juice and could go oin and on about how great they all are, but to a current smoker..they wont be any use to you.
I would suggest a stout Nicotine level at first...maybe 18 to 24 MG of nic when you order. I may suggest a mix in a 50/50 ratio of PG and VG.

After a while, you will slowly natuyrally go down in the Nic levels and will also desire some good tasting juices once your tastebuds start to heal.

Again..Good luck to you......And welcome to the forums

I too, am a cartotank user and they are a great way to go. I like the Smoktech pyrex DCT with Boge XL LR (F16) cartomizers in them. To learn on? Perhaps.

A Davide BDC glassomizer would give you a great vape and are very easy to learn to vape on. Get extra coils, you'll burn through them pretty fast at first.

Juice? That's a hard one, as taste is completely subjective. I have tried and like Mount Baker Vapor, Moon Mountain Vapor, Darkest Day Vapors and Good Life Vapor. There is a whole sub-forum here that would be a great place to get some ideas, check it out. Good luck and have fun!

Well you need 18350's instead of 18650's unless you also buy the extension cap that will allow the 18490's. You would have to go aftermarket for an extension that would allow 18650's with a Provari Mini.

I would suggest buying 3 different heads to try, Vision Vivi Nova (top coil clearo), Kanger ProTank (bottom coil clearo), and a carto tank & cartomizers. You don't need to get all three at once, but you should give all three types a try.

Shouldn't say this but, jump in at the deep end and get a genesis style rebuildable atomizer. Check the you tube videos to learn how to build your coils. It really isn't that difficult. Excellent for flavour the gennys !. You'll need stainless steel mesh and kanthal wire and a multi meter to check your coil ohm's.

Get yourself a shedload of small sample size bottles of various different flavour e liquids.

He might want to go with 18350 AW batteries for the Mini Provari as the 18650s don't fit. You can buy those batteries on Monday, along with your mini for 10% off from Provape. The standard model uses somewhat longer 18490 batteries. There are also extension caps that allow you to use the next size up, batteries. Bigger batteries = longer battery life for the same type of battery.

I dont think you can fit 18650's on the mini. Only 18350 and 18490 with the ext. cap.
There are several extension rings available from aftermarket suppliers that allow you to use an 18650 battery in the Mini Provari. Two Tatroe rings together ($15 each) will allow an 18650 battery to be used.

Two Tatroe extension rings on a Mini Provari allowing the use of an 18650 battery. Using just one extension ring allows the use of the 18490 battery. Pic also shows the Provari wide base attachment which helps stabilize a Provari at home from toppling over with a top-heavy juice attachment.
    ____________________________

The choice of the standard size vs mini depends upon the length you are comfortable with, and do you mind changing batteries during the day for the convenience of a shorter mod (more pocket-friendly). An 18350 battery may last 6 - 7 hours; an 18490 may last 9 - 10 hours, an 18650 battery should last you all day. Your mileage may vary due to your personal vaping habit.

I suggest either the Kanger Protank or an Innokin iClear 30 for your juice attachment. Those should get you up and vaping right away as they are easy to fill and use. You can find YouTube video reviews and demonstrations for these. Once you are ready to move on to slightly more advanced juice attachments, an IBTanked cartotank would be a nice option to try for better flavor and more consistancy.

I had to edit my post pretty quickly...but not quick enough it seems..... as I mis typed the 18650 and meant to say 18350's for the base Mini...... but as Bad says, with the extension rings from Tatroe, you can put all three sizes of Batteries in it,...the beauty of the Mini.

I second and third the IBTanks...

The Mini's provide the greatest flexibility and the after market gear provide the means to provide any battery life or just to bling it out.

    To each their own. Enjoy!

On the carto tanks, I must say that I just received the GP SnP tank and it has become my favorite, surpassing the IBTank and the Phiniac.

My recommendation for juices would be pick a vendor which offers sampler packs to try a variety of flavors for cheap. This prevents wasting money on larger bottles which you may not care for. Juice flavor preference is very subjective, and it will be impossible to recommend a flavor that you may or may not like. Once you find a flavor you like, you can order more in a larger size. I'll recommend two vendors that offer sampler packs the I use regularly. A 1 ppd smoker typically begins vaping with 18 - 24 mg nicotine. Figure on consuming 3 - 5 ml of juice per day.

    Virgin Vapors

    Vaperite

Battery Chargers: If you do not get the Provari kit and choose to purchase items separately for better quality, go to RTD Vapor Battery Chargers. With the holiday specials, this would be a great time to choose the Xtar VP1 - Battery Chargers. Either of the Nitecore Intellichargers would be good choices, too.
