quick noob question

How do you let your liquid "steep"? Does this mean to just let it sit a couple days before using it? Does it really affect the taste?

Yes. I usually leave my juices for a week after mixing. I remove the caps and nozzles and just leave them sitting. (If you have kids or animals around make sure the bottles are secure).

It can make a big difference in taste to some juices and some not so much. Even a couple of days can make a difference.

I sometimes leave the caps off over night and sometimes I will just gently squeeze the bottle so some air gets into the juice and shake it up...don't know if this accomplishes anything but air is free, eh?

When you purchase juice from vendors that make it to order, take a close look at the invoice they send you. Many times they will make notes on it as to whether or not the juice needs to steep. It's helpful if and when they do that.

give it time, sunlight can help, and it really just depends on the individual juice and what ingredients were added

I had some cafe caparillo from nightlight about two months ago that tasted like perfume, put it in a shoebox lid closed and two weeks later it was the BEST juice I've had in years! If you don't like the taste on something let it sit. That said steeping China juice isn't worth it IMO its had plenty of time to steep on its way from China

You can def notice the difference in a juice as it ages. This is especially true for the tobacco flavors. You may also notice a slight change in the color from oxidation.

Some will even place the juice bottle in hot water in an attempt to speed the process. Not sure if this works …

I have some juice from Johnson Creek that I've been avoiding for a month, I gave the espresso a try a few days ago HUGE DIFFERENCE. Given enough time some flavors will come alive, even with the caps on. Seems like darker juices need to steep, haven't had to steep my lighter juice... at least that's my experience
