That isn't the first I've read of nicotine showing positive results in the cognitive diseases of old age. Have also read of good results in IBS.
What passes for "science" used to change about every 10 years, but when it's in a rut, it will burrow in, lashing out and biting at anything that tries to dislodge it, threatened by any competing evidence.
Pharma's ownership of the media with massive ad buys does the opposite of advancing science and the marketplace of ideas. The turnover is no longer about every 10 years, but much more plodding.

Vaping was basically tax free, purchased online (hello, USPS, UPS and FedEx bans), proven to be safer than smoking burning tobacco (hello, Big Tobacco Lobby), and could improve the quality of life without doctors, nurses, prescriptions or treatments (hello, Big Pharma Lobby).
The multi-billion dollar industries, similar to the industries we send our imperial military across the world to defend American (Billionaire) Interests, have purchased your so-called Representative many times over.
And no one can simultaneously be oblivious of reality while repeating preposterous falsehoods like a Politician who wants more tax revenue.
