It was brought to my attention that there are local bans taking place:

Albany County, NY
Lowell, ID
Northampton, MA
Seattle/King County, WA

These are bans on sales to minors (good), and use of e-cigs in non-smoking areas (bad). We really need to mobilize people to get them to speak out against these pushes.
In Northampton, we heard one of the members of the Board of Health ask if anyone else in Massachusetts was working on similar measures. The proponent of the bill stated that nothing state-wide has been introduced, but that "10 or 12" localities had already enacted regulations. The fact that this question was asked says that the more local bans there are, the more there will be. We need to nip this in the bud as quickly as possible.
In addition, don't think for one second that Northampton is over just because they had a public hearing on it. We still need people to write letters, send faxes, and make phone-calls. Every bit of input will help.

As noted above, we are facing indoor bans in Lowell, IN, Northampton, MA and Albany County, NY. Once these indoor bans start, it's going to be hard to stop them. There will be MANY of these in the coming months and we will not know about them until a day or 2 before the hearings in most cases. We need to get as many vapers to these public hearings as possible. Please, if you live anywhere near any of these areas try to attend and speak out! If you have a way to get the word out to others, please do it quickly! Mailing lists, websites, videos, forums, etc… spread the word!

Also, don't forget we are still trying to raise enough money to fund the IVAQS research. This study will look at air quality issues involving the exhaled particulates of e-cigs. We NEED this study to help fight the indoor bans. When they ask for proof of safety… we have a much better chance of success if we can show them proof! Please give what you can to either CASAA or NVC towards this study. We are 1/3 of the way there!
