Hey all...I'm a fairly new vapor (been at it less than 3 months) and bought some gold label KR808 cartos from CigEasy based on a lot of comments I saw here on ECF- up to this point I have just been using generic, cheapo cartos...I got them today and filled one with FSUSA cola (one of my favorite vapes)...and it tasted like burning hair. I hear so many good things about these cartos I have to wonder if there is something I'm missing....I made sure to saturate the filler, so I'm sure that's not it...

Oh, and I should point out that CigEasy included a free sample pre-filled gold label cart and it is amazing, a really fantastic vape...so what am I doing that is making the ones I fill taste so bad?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I know nothing of these cartos in particular but some have primer in them and it takes a few good puffs to be rid of it. From the sound of it though you already gave it enough drags to blow that theory.
There are some good people in this section who have tried most cartos and I'm sure one or ten will be along to help soon enough.

If you do not fill a cartomizer correctly the first time and let the juice wick to the atomizer part of the carto (take a few minutes to let it wick), you WILL burn out the cartomizer before you even use it and you will get that burnt taste forever on that cartomizer.

The way i do it for the first fill on a new cartomizer is as follows:
Place a paper towel or something on the counter. Then pop the white cap off and hold carto at a 45 degree angle and drip 2 or 3 drops onto the filler part of the carto. Wait until the liquid wicks down. then continue the same process until you get a little leak on the battery end of the carto. This way you KNOW the carto is full. blow out a bit on the battery end into a paper towel. let it sit a few mins, and vape away. let me know how it works for you.

What PV are you using? If it's 3.7v (like a kr808 battery) and your cartomizer is really saturated, it shouldn't burn. I prefer to fill kr8 cartos from the battery end, at least the first time. I fill the silicone protective cap about 3/4 full and immerse carto's threaded end into the cap slowly, letting the liquid come up the center airhole and then drip back down into the filler. Then blow out the excess and let the carto rest at least 1/2 hour. The longer, the better. To top off, which needs to be done fairly often, just drip from the mouth end.

If you followed all these steps and the carto burned, you got a dud. Throw it out and try one more time. It's very important to let them sit a while, especially when they are overstuffed with filler, which is happening, unfortunately, more often than it used to. If they are really overstuffed, there is no proper airflow through the carto and your carto will suffocate and burn. Sorry.

Happened to me with CigEasy Gold Label cartos, and with other brands, for that matter.

Try a fresh carto and see what happens. If you got a bad box, try other brands. I had more luck with Turbos from VaporNine, even though they are, supposedly, all made by Boge (Turbos, Gold Label, CoolCarts from V4L and Mega cartos from Nhaler.) Who knows?

Good luck.
