Help With Stripped Threads: Innoken iTaste SVD

I recently bought a new Innoken iTaste SVD which quickly became the pride of my vaping collection, replacing the VAMO which was the previous favorite. Disappointment is setting in as I've had this thing less than 2 months and the threads are already near completely stripped.

To be fair, I am quite hard on my mods and drop them frequently. I really don't blame the construction of the unit for the stripped threads so much as I blame my own abuse of vaping hardware.

With this unit I tried using a 510-510/510-Ego adapter in an attempt to save on the threads. To be honest, I think this trick does me more harm than good since the VAMO lasted 6+ months before dying and the threads never did strip out but this "new" SVD is only 2 months in and will soon be useless because of stripped threads.

Anyway...

does anyone have any good advice or handy tricks to fix the threads on this thing? Anyone maybe know how to make it work once the threads are completely bare (which will likely be the case in a few short days)?

You will need to re-tap...

I know that there are threads in the forum on how to put in an insert so you can re-tap it... but not finding the right threads tonight.

I thought 510-to-eGo adapters would be the bomb.

In fact, they are quite the opposite. They WILL ruin threads. I've seen it on V2 Vamos and MVPs ALL THE TIME, especially if the user prefers Kangers or eGo-threaded clearos.

If you can't retap the threads then I suggest getting something like the mini protank which attaches via the ego threads.

If there's one thing I'm very delicate with, it's the threads on my devices. It takes nothing to ruin them, and they're damn near impossible to repair.

have you thought about a higher end device? If you're that hard on them, it might pay for itself pretty quickly. Perhaps an REO or a Provari or something like them??

The SVD's threads are pretty robust compared to, say, the Vamo's threads. If you keep dropping your mod it's eventually going to take a toll on the threads no matter how well built it is.

maybe so, but a good quality, built in America PV could be repaired and back in your mailbox in under 10 days for a reasonable amount.

This may may not be much help but Auto Zone has tools they will let you 'check out' for free. I know for a fact they have an assorted rethreading kit. If all else fails it'd be worth a try. Hope this helps.
