This is what im modding next... i need something to use at festivals and while camping.
Ive done a quick search and could only find one post suggesting a similar mod, that being the wind up torch mod. This looks a bit different though. The mechanism is unknown to me as of yet but i have got one ordered and on the way so we will see if its based on the same crank/gear/dynamo mechanics as the wind up torch... or potential energy/spring/dynamo mechanics.
The case is brushed aluminium/plastic and it also has a mini usb socket for charging the battery so would likely function in passthrough mode.
