GP SPHEROID TIPS & TRICKS
From the VapePit forum, further implementations on the Herby68 method, about using mesh instead of filler material.

So I sat down and cut a load of strips of mesh. Roughly 40mm by a good 150mm.i folded it into 3 ply width ways and wrapped it tightly. Put it in the tube and it unravelled to the point of useless. I undid the tube, folded another strip roughly the same size as the first and it still wasn't enough. Cut the 3rd strip in half, wrapped them tightly one after each other as opposed to on top of each other.
I thought I'd measure exactly when I'd finished to give an accurate figure, but the truth is, I was so happy with it that I didn't want to take it apart. If you look closely you can see where one ends and another begins.
I filled it up and couldn't believe how well it holds juice. Not a drop leaked while I was re wicking.

Ok so I gave this a quick go..
From what I could gather this was done with 600mm of #400 mesh, so instead of using 4 strips of 150mm I cut one 300x38mm and folded it in half lengthwise, the idea being that the sharp, cut edges would be up in the top of the Spheroid, away from the wick where it would grate at it when screwing the bottom on but would still use the same amount of mesh, I only had #325 though..
I folded both the outer and inner bottom corners up and pre-rolled it..
Inside the atty I wasn't happy that there appeared to be not enough mesh, there were gaps that looked like the juice would piss out of, so I battered the edges down with a small screwdriver..
[
Filled it with a bit over 2ml of juice and upended it to see if it would leak..
Ten minutes later, not a drop..
Results.. Not bad, I think that doing it the way I did probably isn't the best way, I am going to try it again though because it tastes better, maybe adding another 150mm of doubled mesh this time, if anything it is over wicking. I don't mind the amount of mesh it uses because once done it should last years and hopefully will negate the need to keep replacing filler but it needs tweaking. It's possible I over-filled it though..
I am not doing it the way.herby68 did it (although every credit to him for a promising idea) because I don't like the thought of a wall of sharp cut edges grating away at a silica wick every time you refill, to my mind that's asking for trouble.. It seems to taste better, don't know if this is in my head but it's enough to keep me interested enough to keep tinkering with it
I am also going to try a mesh wick in this tomorrow and see how that performs..

To all of you who are using mesh, I'd recommend that you at least boil the mesh before using it. If you take some mesh, put it in a cup and pour boiling water over it, once the surface of the water is still, you'll see a film of oil. Not something you'd really want to be vaping!

Keep your resistance value at 1,6-2,2 Ω for the best throat hit and better battery efficiency.
No need to go below that numbers except if you are a lover of an intense throat hit.
