While there's some great points here, I too have one to add: Before I use a coil, I pull the post off and attach to my battery. I fire up the battery to see if all of the coil wraps are heating properly. Sometimes if a wrap is touching another one, it won't heat all of them. When they all don't heat I would get a burnt taste. Gently separate if necessary with a pin. I clean it by rinsing or soaking in EC. Works wonders and my coils last for weeks with regular cleaning. Hope this helps
