Both Bill Godshall and I will be testifying October 27 at an FDA public hearing on the topic, of “Risks and Benefits of Long-Term Use of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) Products”

I'm curious to know how well these products worked for others, so I started a poll. My theory would be that those who managed to use them to quit smoking completely actually used them long-term, rather than as directed to wean off nicotine over a specified period of time--usually 12 weeks.

In my case, I never did achieve full cessation using them as directed. Before I took up vaping, I used nicotine gum long term to reduce the number of cigarettes I smoked.

I have posted a copy of my slides (with explanatory text) delivered today, 10/27/2010 at the public hearing. Things went well. All of the speakers at the public hearing endorsed long-term use and most endorsed higher dosages.

Vocalek - Nice slide deck and thanks for presenting at the public hearing and looking out for our best interests. You and your team have done a fine job and I am hopeful the message will sink in. THANKS AGAIN!

Thanks for the update. I'm glad I participated in the surveys and I hope these people are actually listening.

Thank you so very much. I am just so glad you are on our side. Were there many Antis there and if so what was their reasoning for being opposed to ecigs and other reduced harm products?
