Cleaning magnets and gold-plated contacts?

Greetings to all. I'd like to ask you savvy vets on what is the best way to clean magnets in the buttons in my nemmy mod. They were purchased from Fat Daddy and I'm on a quest to get the most out of my devices by cleaning every part of them. Also some of my mods have gold-plated contacts in them and they need a cleaning as well. How would one do this without damaging them? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Should not have to clean the magnet they have nothing to do with the electrical connection at least not in mine. Gold plated contacts should only be wiped with a cloth not paper towel and either soapy water or alcohol.

If you've gotten grit or lint in the magnet / switch area, just wipe off gently with soft cloth. And I'd just swab the plated contacts off with alcohol, as Steve says. The alcohol will dry off faster than the soapy water
