My Red Nose (pit bull) was diagnosed with breast cancer at 2 years old. She had surgery and her left breast and lots of the muscle around it was removed. It was one of the more dangerous types and the vet said even though they got all the cancer she'd be high risk for a reoccurance and she'd have to be closely monitored.
Now, 5 years later, she's still cancer free and has never skipped a beat! Her scar is noticeable only if you know it's there and she's as gorgeous as ever. I do get a little nervous though when a little bump pops up her and we get it checked out. It's only happened twice, once was a bug bite and once was a play nibble that got a little carried away.
What was your experience?
Note: my son is also a cancer survivor... I'm so blessed!
