The BBC just ran a section of the show Fake Britain on bogus safety marks on ecigs. They showed ecig blister packs with the mark SGS displayed on the back. SGS is a testing body that tests electrical and other equipment for safety. The telling point was that an SGS spokesman said that they have never tested ANY ecigs for safety so any product carrying the SGS mark has a faked certificate.
Here's their logo.....
So something to beware of there.
And I have to say the BBC shot itself in the foot somewhat by showing that clip of an ecig being recharged and exploding in a bar that was down to somebody using a phone charger.
The Show should appear here in due course - it's the first ten minutes or so......
BBC One - Fake Britain, Series 5 (30 minute reversions), Episode 19
