"Soft cake straight out of the oven topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and strawberry syrup". Yes, that sounds very good from the US manufacturer's recommendation, which has done well in attracting attention. They've thrown together a very nice sounding flavour world, a description that sounds quite tempting to lovers of dessert flavours.
On the nose, you can pick out strawberries and a bit of baked pastry, it's not intrusive, a sort of light and creamy sensation.
The base flavour will be fruit, as it is in the nose, spiced up with a cakey round that really brings the 'out of the oven' shape. The fruit is a delicate strawberry, slightly acidic but also sweet. The "covered in strawberry syrup" part is not really noticeable, so don't expect the syrupy sweetness. The whipped cream also meets the same fate, although the creaminess and slight softness is perhaps due to this, which is not obvious to me. Somehow the flavours blend together, there is no "strength" to the flavours given. The strawberry part is very enjoyable, but the other sweet flavours are not pronounced enough to live up to the manufacturer's claims (at least in my opinion). That said, it has turned into something that can be used all day, but not what the manufacturer has highlighted in the accompanying description.
