It's absolutely something we have to deal with - but it's definitely not something that has to define us! :) I'm sure I'm much like you in the sense that - since I've had this since I was a kid, I've learned to "get bigger than it" mentally - and - even on my worst days - I find tons to be grateful for and as long as I keep myself (my mind, my soul and spirit) busy and moving forward -there is no reason to look back :)

Def hit me up and let me know how you're doing!

I think the 6mg is a good starting point for you. That lower level is definitely going to be smoother on your throat and lungs. I also don't think you are going to OD or anything at that level.
Some things you are going to (supposed to) feel are a little bit of tingly, a little lightheaded, maybe even very slight dizziness. All of these things should be very slight and subtle. These are the things that give smokers that 'ahhh' feeling when taking their first hits after a while without a smoke. I always wondered how a feeling so subtle could be so addictive.
Some things to watch for to tell you if you are over doing it are hiccups and nausea. If you feel these things, you should set it down for a bit. Once you feel it pass, you can try again. Again, I don't think you will get to this point with 6mg juice, but it's very hard for me to call for a non-smoker.

Cool, so if I'm taking in 3 cartridges of 6mg, does that mean i'm taking in roughly 18mg for the whole day? If you can't answer that question I understand. Thanks again highping(oh and since you're highping, don't play games with me ;) ) haha jk, little gamer joke

@Remie, yeah having UC has definitely made me a better person and more grateful for the life I have. I don't ever let this disease take control of me, even at its worse. Will keep you updated.

@crashtestjeep, thanks for chiming in! I've seen you all over the forum! Like a mini-celebrity lol

It's hard to say 'cart wise', but the mg rating means mg per ml, so if the cart holds a ml, then you would be right. It will be easier for you to gauge based on how many ml you go through a day. I use 3ml of 36mg, so in theory I'm taking in 108mg a day (that seems way high now that I think about it), but it also is dependent on absorption rates, which is a debatable topic with vaping. For me it's more of what I feel 'right' vaping and less of what the scientific explanations of it are.

Only a gamer would catch that ;) I used to play quake TF way back in the mid '90s and for a short time I was stuck with AOL. The best servers I could find had 400-500ms ping times. That's where I got the name and it just stuck. I'm a little more fortunate these days. If it's over about 50ms, I move on to another server ;)

You also might feel sick or nauseous - nic can do that too, as well as give youa headache and cause your pulse/heart to race.
If this happens, and it might as you never smoked, then just lay off it for little while. It is possible to OD on nicotine, although it would take more for an ex-smoker than for you because your system isn't used to it. DO be careful.
If you get lots of jitters then scale back your nic level until you find a balance amount. A head rush is ok, a wildly pounding heart rate is not.

Yeah I know what you mean, funny thing is I have actually done the nicootine patch and remember most of my symptoms being the ones you guys are describing. I beleive I used 24mg nicotine patches so that's roughly 4ml of 6mg nicotine carts. I'll probably start out like that and post what happens and how i feel. Thanks again.

ok, it's finally here! Got here at 10:15am, on saturday, i'm impressed with usps. I heard about the bestecig.com wrapping, and now I know what they meant. Will give updates, so day one here I come!

First few puffs were kind of hard, I would start to suck in, then while sucking it the light would turn off within the first few seconds unless I sucked harder. Is that normal? This isn't the cutoff time either, it's like a second or two after the initial suck. I'm also trying to get the prime puff down as well.

Also, do I actually have to inhale to get the nicotine or do I just need to keep in it my mouth?

Since you have automatic batteries it will probably take some practice to get it working good.

Stand in front of a mirror and watch the LED as you take drags.
You want to see how hard you need to draw on it to get that LED lit.
And you want to see how hard you need to draw on it to keep it lit as long as possible.

For some automatic batteries your only choice is to do consecutive short drags.
And it is often said that a quick short initial draw (primer puff) followed by a real drag will work well.

Most people recommend slower, longer draws.
I recommend getting a manual battery.

It is very unlikely that you'll get through anywhere near 4ml in a day.
The average is around 2-3ml per day with only the heaviest vapors getting up near 4ml per day.

Keep in mind that the best estimates are that we only absorb somewhere between 10-40% of the available nicotine when vaping. The 10% figure comes from a New Zealand study. The 40% figure comes from a chemist here who has done his own testing.

I'm guessing you may be wanting to move to 12mg soon.
:)

Hey! Congrats on getting your delivery today! It sounds like you're starting to get the hang of it.

If you decide that you like it and it's helping you, I'd consider manual batteries too. It's really easy to push the button and "draw" and it becomes second nature in no time.

Since you aren't a "smoker" you'll be able to actually taste the e-liquids a lot faster than a lot of us here. Once my sense of taste and smell came back full-on I was able to decide what e-liquids I really liked.

Once you start experimenting with all the possible flavors out there, you'll probably be able to give some great reviews on them :)
