Hey guys!

I didn't manage to find any eliquid calculators for ready VG/PG nicotine bases (Inawera, Pink-Mule, home made in bulk etc.). All I managed to find was calculators for your VG, PG, nicotine base and flavour concentrate components, which just didn't work for me.

I know I'm not alone in this boat (with store bought VG/PG bases with nicotine), so I decided to make a calculator of my own.

I present to you: YAEC - Yet another eLiquid calculator (http://laskuri.solkku.com)

Changelog:
v0.1 Basic form functionality
v0.2 Added design
v0.3 Added calculation of nic strength for finished liquid
v0.4 Added Live "recipes calculated" counter

Comments and improvement/developing ideas appreciated! :toast:

I am kind of confused here. Both calculators I have downloaded already seem to have no problem doing this. If you have a "Premade base" instead of just having your 36mg VG nic or whatever, you can input that your nic is 50/50 (or whatever), set your desired levels of PG/VG/nic for the final mix, and it calculates perfectly. Unless I am missing something here?

Or are you simply saying that if you have this base, and you add your flavors, this calculator will basically tell you what you end up with?
In that case on the calculator I have open atm (JuiceCalculator by HotRod19579) you can go to Tools -> Build Recipe from Ingredient Amounts

This lets you say "I have 30ml of base, I add 2mls of one flavors, 5 mls of another flavors, what do I end up with?"

Don't mean to rain on your parade, just wondering if you couldn't find the option on other calculators.

Thank you for your reply CampbellMC! Hotrod's calculator is closer to what I would've needed, if I had found it. :) I tried some of the online ones and ejuice Me up. Hotrod's calculator still has way too many functions for my needs, making it more complicated than it has to be. I just needed a simple one with nothing extra, just the ready nic-base + diluted flavours. So I figured if I need one, maybe there are others that do too, so I made it public for anyone to use.

When using these ready bases you don't even get to choose your "desired VG/PG ratio" anymore, since it's already in the bottle. :) The base I have at the moment is 500ml bottle of 50VG/50PG with 18mg of nic.

He is constantly updating his calculator to ensure everyone is happy, which is why it seems like there is a function for everything (because everyone wants something different). Also many people like want different PG/VG ratios, and if you order a bottle of 50/50 with 18mg nic, and then you add say 20% flavoring to that base, your final result will be down to 15mg nic, and 58PG/42VG, which will be thinner than most people are used to. So people might want to buy a bottle of VG to go along with it, so you can thicken it up a bit. This is basically a stepping stone to complete DIY in my mind. If you buy a more concentrated base you would be saving cash. If you wanted 18mg 50/50 nic, you could just buy a bottle of 100mg VG nic, and a big bottle of PG (Cheaper than VG), and mix them together in the proper proportions and presto, 5x more base for basically the same price in many cases.

It's good that he updates it! I like a software creator that takes care of its users. ;)

I'll have to see if I ever want to thicken up my juices. I have been more than satisfied with the lower than 50/50 VG/PG after adding flavouring, and frankly don't care if it's not exactly 50/50 afterwards. :D And somehow the nic strength I get in the final juice (~15mg) is just my sweet spot.

I maybe have to create a calculator for the costs of bases (including shipping costs). Where I live you usually have to buy the nic base, VG and PG bases from three different stores, which sucks. If only you could get everything from the same place around here. That's one reason why I chose to start DIY out with a ready nic base.

Sorry for sounding like a HotRod fan boy, but in his calculator you add your "inventory" enter each flavorings, bases, nic, and there is a spot for how much the bottle cost you, and how large of a bottle it is), when you calculate your juice it tells you exactly how much that bottle of juice cost you based on the values you entered. The nic base you will usually have to get from a different supplier, but getting stronger nic you will get a good supply to last you. I recently got 500ml of 100mg VG for $70 (yes its a bit more pricy in Canada), but seeing as I usually vape between 4-12mg depending on which setup I am using that will make roughly 6L of juice. As for the VG/PG go to your local pharmacy, VG can be found on the shelf, and you can get the Pharmacist to order the PG for you (Takes 1 day to arrive).
